I've never played Guilty Gear, but from the way some of the FGC higher-ups talk about it, it was most definitely a legitimate fighting game (as in, not casual-ified like Smash Bros).

GG, BlazBlue (however many of them there are) and Persona 4 Arena are all great, and I'm not even a fan of the genre. And yes, they're all serious fighters.

Sorry. Fun games are great, but I want a game that I can sink my teeth into and be rewarded for it. I have 'fun' by bettering myself, and there's not much of that to be had in Brawl, so to hear that the next iteration will be--if you'll pardon the term--"Brawl-ifying" it even further...well, it makes me sad.

I wish I had a PS3 for UMvC3.

Original smash bros was my favorite.

Oh, I know. Fighters that aren't good die out quickly. I've heard of GG and BlazBlue more than once, and the hype for--correct me if I'm wrong--Persona 5 means that previous iterations were worth their salt.

Personally I still enjoy watching UMvC3 and Street Fighter 4 the most though.

Personally, I've never liked fighting games. Not because of overly ridiculous combos, but because I've always found it easy to beat someone by spamming the same attack over and over again. Don't get me started on Dead or Alive 4's final boss, either. I liked all of the SSBs games, and Brawl is a fun way to just smash computer players for about 15 minutes then play a game of cat and mouse for about an hour with a good friend :P
I wish I could have fun "bettering myself", but if I could find a way to have fun "bettering myself", I wouldn't be here. Ever. I'd probably actually be out doing things, be in better shape, and probably have a job.
