    [GPU] will i see a difference ?

in short will i see a difference between these two cards (the one is OC'd the other is not) i'm trying to decide if it's worth it to pay the extra 25$ (more around 40$ in my country)

both based on nVidia GTX 680 GPU

a 680 will run any game on the highest resolution possible and settings. The OC will give you more FPS but unless your looking to just brag about the highest possible FPS possible.

Personally i would get the none-OC one, if games start to struggle, OC it yourself later. Get more satisfaction doing it yourself also.

The better question is how's your CPU? If it's not beefy enough then you'll end up crippling the GTX 680 cause the CPU will be a bottleneck.

Literally all you would have to do to overclock 50Mhz is download EVGA Precision (or whatever other program you choose) and spend 2 seconds moving the clock slider to the right 50Mhz. Nothing else whatsoever would have to be done to save yourself the extra money.

Now, if you want to clock it further, you'll end up having to adjust voltages. 50Mhz though, that's nothing.

    ASRock Extreme3 - Sennheiser Momentums - Xonar DG - EVGA Supernova 650G - Corsair H80i

Only issue is, if it's a reference 680, pretty sure you can't tweak the voltages, has to be a custom PCB.

@OP, yeah for a 50MHz difference, $25 is a total and complete waste. 50MHz is such a small increase in clock frequency that you'd get likely less than a 5% increase in raw horsepower. I do wonder though, what games are you playing? What resolution are you playing at?

You don't need a 680 to get 60+ fps on those games, lol
