Angry Your most horrible Class Balance memories!

Mine has to be how sickly out of control Warriors were in Vanilla, how disgustingly overpowered Restoration Druids and Warlocks were in TBC and not to mention Death Knights and Ret paladins in WotLK... *shudders*

For Cataclysm it's pretty obvious, Mages being able to take 40% of your HP in one shatter even with PvP gear, and Rogues obliterating everything in a five mile radius. They should never have gotten access to the Legendaries exclusively in the first place, it's just ridiculous.

When it comes to seasons I'd say S5 and S11. Blizzard failed horribly in terms of Balance in both of these seasons, and I am sure it will continue down the road if PvP stays the same as it is now. We'll see in MoP though.

The most balanced season in my opinion was S7. It was not the most fun, but overall a season where Blizzard actually succeeded in terms of Balance.

They might make my class (Hunter) actually viable for ONCE in MoP. Hunter has always been a class that isn't viable in terms of other classes in MoP, they might score high on the charts in PvE but they're horrible in PvP at max level, you can only make a difference if you heroic PvE trinkets from DS. I mean, look at Hunters representation in Arena and you'll see how horrible it is.

    Oh well, post along!

S8 was byfar the worst season ever, not a caster? get out.

Toss up between sl/sl warlocks :< and ret paladins in the patch before WotLK was released

Saw a level 76 paladin beat a hunter with duelist title outside Goldshire inn. Man, that hunter got so much crap after that lol.

Hunter is plenty viable in arena, but I personally think the skill cap for the hunter class is much higher than other classes. I mean, to play a hunter well is much harder than to play a Death Knight well. So this might be the reason for a not so high representation.

    2.0.10 (extract):

    • "Bear Form" now grants 25% increased stamina instead of 25% increased health.
    • "Dire Bear Form" now grants 25% increased stamina instead of 25% increased health. In addition, the armor bonus has been reduced from 450% to 400%.
    • The multiplier on base weapon damage for "Mangle (Bear)" ability has been changed from 130% to 100%. In addition, the bonus damage has been reduced by the same ratio.
    • "Savage Fury" no longer affects "Mangle (Bear)".
    • "Savage Fury" no longer applies to "Maul" or "Swipe".
    • The critical damage bonus on "Predatory Instincts" reduced from 3/6/9/12/15% to 2/4/6/8/10%.
    • "Improved Leader of the Pack" can no longer get critical heals.

    Topped only by 4.0.6 (extract):

    • Shapeshifts: Entering or leaving a shapeshift no longer cancels root effects

Mutilate rogues early WotLK. Sure DKs were bad but the mutilate rogues made me take my first break from WoW.

Not exactly accurate. There were several top-tier comps that weren't double caster in S8; matter of fact we shared rank 1 with three other friends of ours and excluding healers neither setup actually had a single caster in it (dispel cleave and TSG respectively).

sl/sl locks and Shadowmourne Death Knights, Warriors and Rets. Instant pyroblast mages were pretty damn OP back in vanilla, they could oneshot a raid-geared warrior.

QFT. I can't remember any other instance of anything being so immensely overpowered. I was probably still a bit of a noob back then though, so my judgment may not have been the most reliable.

Or Shadowmournes. Shadowmournes everywhere. I'm pretty sure it had a +400 arena rating on equip.

Yeah well Hunter has a high (if not the highest) skillcap of any class in-game, you have to master the art of kiting, using your pet and CCing when it's needed, need to master your defensive CDs etc. A newfag which of course rolled a Mage enjoying being able to cast scorch while running and obliterating even well-geared players which can't do sh*t would quit WoW if he ever laid his hands on a fully PvP geared Hunter at max level.

DK season 5 removing HoTs with a some shit they spammed. I played with a R. Druid and it was frustrating as fuck.

    Honorable Mentions:
Arcane Mages right before WotLK I believe that was the expansion that was about to hit.
Ret Pally was on the same boat.
Locks in BC were crazy. I had a friend who dueled naked in Durotar and beat everyone with all the self heals.
"Druid must be boss, Hunter is just Drain-monkey.

    Hunter scatter this rogue.
    Hunter drain that priest.
Hunter where is frost trap. Bad Hunter! No banana!
Hunter where is flare? No flare, you get replaced by retarded warrior!"

Representation isn't everything, it means most of the people playing hunter are idiots, because ironically hunters are one of the strongest classes at this very moment, and if you have issues with doing well while playing a hunter, it's not your partners fault, it's your own, because hunters atm, can pull off some preety retarded feats if they know how to use their pets.
EDIT: Just to contribute, it's s11 and s8, due to LSD in s8 and RLS in s11, both annoy me to no end

Love how everyone remembers pre-wotlk ret that lasted 24 hours while only a few months ago they had the same, albeit a bug, but 24 hours or so of one shotting not just players but heroic raid bosses.....surely reck bomb was worse than the 24 hours that divine storm did OP damage.

    4.0.3a feral druids
    *shudder*

In patch 4.0.1 moonkins and elemental shamans were god mode in any kind of open PvP, but I played both so I can't complain

The death knight glyph that made death and decay cast a fear was pretty terrible as well... Early, early wrath

Nothing can beat s5..Nothing comes even close. More than half the classes were broken and some even had 2 broken specs out of 3(paladin).

Btw hunters are currently more than fine in PVP, borderline op i'd say.

I'm not denying that many, MANY people who play Hunter are stupid beyond imagination. And so the term "huntard" was coined lol

cause "omg liek being able 2 have 1 of dat awzum cuul tigerz 4 pet is da st00f y'innit?"

Most of them ragequit when trying to PvP though, and reroll a Mage which has the lowest skill cap of any class I've ever seen.
