    Worldwide recognition

The first and most important factor is worldwide recognition and participation in the sport. While there is not a set quota of participating countries or worldwide competitors that would automatically qualify a sport as being Olympic quality. However, since the admission process includes a vote from the National Olympic Committees, it is important for the sport to be widely practiced and recognized in the largest number of countries. For example, it wouldn't make sense for the NOCs to vote for a sport in which only a handful of countries would participate.

    International governing body

Each sport in the Olympics is governed by an independent federation. Before being accepted into the Games, the sport must have an organization that oversees a large percentage of the sport's activities worldwide. It must also be capable of stepping in and overseeing the sport's Olympic events. Karate, which is not currently an Olympic event but has been nominated several times, would be directed by the World Karate Federation if it were to pass the IOC vote.

This is why Esports will never become an Olympic sport.

starcraft 2 - i would say is one of the only games in competition that could possibly be a Olympic event

There is speculation going on that we will see eSport games at the olympics as soon as 2020! Do you think it will happen or is it just pure bs?

Personally i would like to see gaming being something featured at the Olympics, i mean they have tons of sports featured at the olympics which i didnt even know fell under the category of sports.
I don't actually. The olympics are a tradition which stems from ancient greek. E-sports have nothing to do with it tbh. E-sports have loads of different places to be so there is no reason to have it be in the olympics.

people always say "if it becomes big", the growth it has had in 5 years is insane, Cbs have bought twitch tv, google have invested 40million into machinima, they predict that the gaming market will keep growing

eSports cant go into olympics because nothing mechanical can go into olympics, race cars are one example of something popular that cant go into olympics.

    So no, it wont happen.

eSports in the Olympics? Not a chance. They have their own big tournaments, thats enough.
