Since I smacked someone in the face this hard, I was wondering if anyone else have seen some skyhigh numbers post-patch.
This is the highest I've seen so far:
Anyone out there seen higher? If got a screenshot it would be awesome, but not needed!
Class balance and QQ is for another thread and not here, this is just for shit and giggles.

128k execute. Outside of that a 65k reflected Chaos Bolt.

I don't have proof, but I did an 85k Obliterate once... I had the bg berserker buff but I don't think I popped all CDs... and I think it was on a 75k hp player lol

On topic, I've seen like 70-100k's on my warrior with execute and all cds popped. On my mage I've seen similar damage with no cds other than deep freeze popped :P

(I may have had berserking at the time, I wiped my recount at the start of some random BGs to see how high I could get it - and then checked my overall at the end - but most of the time we were feeding berserkings to my spriest friend - I don't really remember having one at any point).
Also Chaos Wave (Demonology's big hit) doesn't hit as hard (like, 100k ish, maybe 120k as a max without berserking) but it does hit AoE and applies a snare - so while Chaos Bolt's damage is huge - Chaos Wave is potentially more dangerous in team play (and they can throw about 2 of those back to back).
Also another crazy lock trick that people are forgetting about with Chaos Bolt is (the locks I pvp with and the destro locks I fight at least), if I were in arenas right now as destruction - I wouldn't be Chaos Bolting whenever it becomes available - you can save up to 4 of them (with Glyph of Burning Embers) at a time. Meaning I'd probably ramp-up my Burning Embers over the course of a minute or so, and then use single Chaos Bolts to poke the enemy for defensive cooldowns - if they blow their defensives I cancel the following CB and try one of their teammates - if they are out of defensives.... Collect Points.
So - destruction would need a babysitter to work well in arenas in MoP (very cast-time dependent), but with something like a frost mage or rogue peeling for them - it basically puts like a one minute match timer - because by the time I'm popping Dark Soul / SP Trinket and tossing 5 Chaos Bolts out (you can use Havoc to throw 2 out at the same time once every 25 seconds as well) - it's pretty much game over.
(Will probably be nerfed, and should be - but since that's destructions only gimmick it's unlikely we'll see them in arenas at all unless CB is pretty nuts, 203k is obviously too nuts though).

Fix chaos bolt...
It gets power from SP (duh) and from pvp power and is a guaranteed crit. On top of that it ignores resilience, absorbs and damage reductions...
It's basicly a molotov cocktail that soaks you with lighter fluid before hitting you and then burns with the same fire shit they used in Game of Thrones to defend kings landing...

I'm pretty sure they removed the absorb-piercing effect from it with the patch. Mine has been fully absorbed by priest shields more than once. Originally Posted by Huntingbear_grimbatol

Chaos Bolt damage is reduced by absorbs, resilience and damage reduction CD's. On top of that it takes a good 20 seconds to even build one Ember for just one CB. Originally Posted by Huntingbear_grimbatol

My highest crit as a BM was only 54k, kinda small in comparison to what have been stated.

I like to save my embers for shadowburn in PvP. Its very rarely I manage to get a chaos bolt 1v1 vs non retarded players unless they are in a full fear.
What I do is to use fel flame/immolate/conflag/incinerate until they're 20%, then I blast them with 4 shadowburns. GG

I tend to trick them into using their CCs early so as to build up DR, and then I pop Unending Resolve and just blast away at them while they can't do anything to stop me. If you time it right you can usually get 3 CBs off in the duration, if not all 4 if your opponent is slow to react when it fades. Originally Posted by Mudor
