Hints on Getting H Rag Group mount Freeroll before MoP

I'll keep this short and sweet. I quit the game 2 months before DS due to health concerns, right before the massive FL nerfs, and only got 5/7H pre-nerfs on 10 man. I have 398 DPS gear iLvl as a fury warr and a mediocre 394 fire mage who I have not played since 5.0.4 (US Sargeras Alliance). I would like to get some tips on how to get a H Rag group before MoP drops, preferably without the mount being reserved or with other group members having a ridiculous +roll bonus on the mount.

All the OpenRaid groups I can find on days that I can commit to a longer raid are Firelords/Saviors only, have the mount reserved, or have other group members with a ridiculous +roll bonus. Think like +50 roll bonus on the mount. I came back in late May at 381 iLvl, so I was a bit behind the gearing curve. I didn't really start playing my warrior again until maybe middle June anyways. I did not know of OpenRaid at the time. By the time I tried it out, it was late July - too late to find a group willing to take a non Firelord/Savior.

Unless I can pull a large amount of gold out of thin air, or find a guild or group that is reputable that's willing to sell the mount for 50k, buying the run/mount is not an option. I am somewhat willing to xfer an 85 with the gold to a different server, but only after I have gotten the mount, to ensure that someone doesn't rip me off of the money for the xfer.

So, am I pretty much screwed? Or can anyone think of a magical solution?

If it wasn't so short notice I would offer you a spot in our run, we've been selling the raggy hc mount for months now. If you can't afford to buy a run odds are you'll just have to farm it in mop (assuming it doesn't get removed)

Yeah, I've been bummed myself about how many Openraid raids require you to be a Firelord already in order to get into HM Rags runs, because I really want to do it before Mists drops (title/mount is cool but mostly I want to beat the fight before it's totally obsolete. Even nerfed the experience is still a lot more fun level appropriate)... but I'm not filthy rich and don't really want to pay to raid even if I had the money. I see lots of full HM clear Dragonsoul runs requiring 6/8HM, but very very few Firelord runs requiring less than 7/7HM.

It doesn't even really make much sense now that achievements are shared, since it eliminates a whole section of players who were running to get the title/mounts on all their alts, but I guess for people who don't have it yet trying to get the mount before it becomes a rare drop.

I don't really have a suggestion aside from paying a guild on your realm, just sharing your woes.

You are screwed.

You have too many limitations. 50k for that mount wont fly on most servers, and you aren't even willing to transfer first... dont think the odds are in your favor.

Likely screwed; 50k is actually a bit too low now especially since the mount is going to become a 1% soon.

Unfortunately my realm is very large, and rather old, so gold is not as valuable per piece as on a smaller realm. Buying from a big name, not-going-to-scam-you guild is 200k, and a smaller, lesser known guild would charge 100k.

Would the Raids & Dungeons be a better place to post on O Boards, or General Discussion? Or a realm forum thread? I'm not excited to post on my realm forums lest I get laughed at for offering 50k.

I'm not mod of this section, but you can't solicit to buy mounts here. You'll have to stick to openraid or your realm forums. Discussing it and looking for suggestions for places to look is fine, but actually offering gold-for-mount here is against MMOC rules.

I LOVE Open Raid, for me it was a game changer and I got my GOTR: Firelands through a looottttttttt of hard work and a cpl regular grps plugging away at it. However, what you guys have been saying about the requiring Firelord/Saviour is 100% true and the biggest reason I am done with raiding come MOP outside of LFR/World Bosses. (Between all the new content, scenarios, GOTH and challenge modes I will be well occupied, plus their are only three ways you can get a firehawk in game, their's plenty of ways you can get a cloud serpent).

Believe lots of people post sales threads in the achievement section on the official forums.

You're shit out of luck I'm afraid, everyone wants the mount right now, and 5/7 won't get you far with finding a group, even if it was pre-nerf.
Your best bet would be to make your own group and ninja the mount, but that's a bitch ass move.

If you have a problem with it or need the rule explained, feel free to PM Sunshine. I don't know anything about whether gold trading for RAF is allowed. All I know is that people are not allowed to solicit for buying/selling here for many reasons but not limited to the fact that the forum would be massively flooded with those kinds of threads. But that's one of the things Sunshine is here for, so I'm sure she'll be happy to clarify.

There is one RaF thread.Now think if sales run/LFG threads were permitted how many of them would there be ?
and who said that blizzard doesn't allow you to get paid for Raf?

You should try doing some rag pugs,it's not hard at all and I'm sure you can find decent people to do it,just cross your fingers everytime it drops

Lead your own run on OpenRaid. Just read up and make sure you know the fight (no really, know all of the mechanics to the point that you could do the fight as any role).

I did the same thing and it worked out great, no one in my group was even a Firelord when I started. You just need to be calm and confident, you also can't be afraid to remove the people that slow you down, or the elitist assholes that will rage when someone screws up once and causes your group's morale to go down.

Though if you want a guaranteed shot at your mount, you're boned unless you buck up and transfer. Though IMO no mount is worth the cost of transferring any toon plus 100k+ gold.

Considering the firehawk mount is more expensive then the Deathwing mount...50k wont even scratch the surface.
