Switching to engineering

So i leveled JC on my main but I find very boring and pretty lame tbh. Sure the stats are cool and all. but im not very concerned about gold or epic stats (no longer raid).

I heard engineering is fun. Seeing as im a miner i thought it would be easy to level.

My main questions are:

1) is it really as fun/cool as people say?
2) Is MoP add'ing any real cool stuff?
3) Are there annoying daily quests I have to do just to get recipes?

1. yah i has an engi as it has been fun at times.

2. yes they added new cool stuff in mists, a bling-a-tron 400. basically its a robot that has a daily quest, in which you get some random free item.. might be worth lots of money. they added a glider tinker to your cloak, water walking tinker to your belt. nitro boosts is still there, a thermal anvil that you can sell its portable. and many more things.

3. no there isnt any daily quests needed to get the patterns. so far anyways.

Only reason I did it on my Rogue was for all the tinkers like Rocket Boost and the Parachute and also the Synapse Strings. Outside of that, nothing really fun about it.
