Getting started with making addons

Hello everyone.

I recently got alot more time on my hands, so i thought about learning how to make addons..
The thing is i have no idea where to start, basics, tools or anything.. so if some one would share a little bit .. That Would be awesome..

www.wowpedia.org has some pretty good starter guides. www.wowprogramming.com is the end-all reference for the API.

I'd recommend using Notepad++ or some other editor with built in Lua highlighting. Also get the SourceCookifier plug-in for it, it'll let you hop function to function rather easily. (There's other nifty plug-ins too, and can be downloaded within NP++ so browse them at your leisure.)
