    Best Mage Pre-Raid Gear MoP.

    Hello!

    I decided to post since I did not find anything pmuch anywhere related to this;

    Something I wanted to share to you guys;
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMldiHWmekw

WoWHobbs made a nice youtube video where you can see slot-by-slot items for Pre-Raiding (NOTE: Not Pre-Heroic Dungeons) and you can take a look at them so you know what to farm.

I take no credit over the video, just wanted to share since I had some trouble finding it myself

    Enjoy =)

It is a nice video allthough it would be very nice to have it written down also.

One list showing what useful pieces of gear each instance drops and another list showing which gear slots drops in which instances.

Thank you very much for this!

I think what might help some when they start running these is to see the list organized by Heroic Dungeon as well.

clearly the best in sloters are going to be the two purps you can get,

And why don't you have listed the Arch off-hand?

I know there's a lot of gear that's not on this list, but they are on the full post on my guild's forums.

like always, Main hand + Off Hand is superior to Staff because of the Off-hand's enchantment (+165 int)

Don't they have less int on them though, so it ends up about equal,

mh/oh with enchant is goign to have about 40 int more than the epic staff...but the epic staff is going to have about 200 more stam. mh/oh combo's seem to have more secondary stats, but the epic staff has about 700 more spell power.

staff is going to be pre raid bis even though MH/OH combo does have 40 more int also the staff have far better secondary stats (hit)

    When I say MH/OH + enchant > staff it's on a same level basis.

We can't really compare different level because it will be more stat versus more Spell Power.
But for the same level (463), we have:

    • Staff 899 int + 1164 stat
    • MH+OH 1051 int + 1163 stat (with OH enchant)
    • difference -152 int + 1 stat

Conclusion: MH/OH+enchant is always superior to a Staff of the same level.
Solution : adding a socket to the staff or boost it's intellect.

edit: I suppose that Mr Robot can show pre-raid BiS for each spec.

But then again I have longed for a sword + offhand combo for soooo long.. last time i used a sword on my mage was back in ICC

But yes it would be nice if staffs and 1hand + offhand combo's would be balanced around something, but like before even in MoP it seems to be that 1 will be a clear winner and using the other puts you at a disadvantage

As gnomes get 1% hit from small blades now it seems like a given that swords and the like are going to be BiS for me, which is good because the Sha-Touched spell sword is far more attractive than that boring staff

  15. #15
I do also want the sword for my mage. I always preferred swords. They look so awesome

  16. #16
too bad you can't xmog one hand sword with main hand :/ (i dont get why though)

I don't see any mage gear list on the public forums of your guild website. If you don't mind, could you please either post a link or post the list here? Much appreciated.

This list is the best possible heroic / crafted gear for Fire Mages from obvious familiar places in MoP for October 2nd week of Raiding. Not included in this list is Rep Rewards Purchased with Valor Points. Since Hit is 15% at 90 I.E. 5100. My set up is pretty much get as much hit and crit from gear, while hitting the 15% haste breakpoint raid buffed. This is in theory that 15% raid buffed haste is our plateau, and Crit being > mastery. Changes may occur, but atm this is what I’ve compiled. Also BoE’s from crafting Scribes and Tailors are a must with this build, they include Gloves, Chest, and Off-Hand.

    Helm
Whitemane’s Embroidered Chapeau – Crit 497/Haste 450/ Socket Bonus: 180 Int (High Inquisitor Whitemane, Scarlet Monastery) ”Burning Primal Diamond, Brilliant Primordial Ruby" ”Unforged

    Neck
Pendant of Precise Timing – Hit 358/Crit 293 (Saboteur Kip’tilak, Gate of the Setting Sun) “Unforged

    Shoulder
Shoulders of Engulfing Winds – Crit 405/Haste 405/ Socket Bonus: 60 Haste (Raigonn, Gate of the Setting Sun)
Greater Crane Wing Inscription, Veiled Imperial Amethyst," “Unforged

    Cloak
Scorched Earth Cloak – Hit 277/Mastery 368 (Brother Korloff, Scarlet Monastery)
Enchant Cloak – Accuracy" ”Mastery reforged to Crit

    Chest
Spelltwister’s Grand Robe: (Crafted BoE) Haste 686/ Mastery 474/ Socket Bonus: 120 Int "Enchant Chest – Glorious Stats, Veiled Imperial Amethyst, Potent Vermilion Onyx"
    Mastery reforged to Crit

    Wrist
    Deadwalker Bracers – Hit 354/Crit 301(Rattlegore, Scholomance)
"Enchant Bracer – Super Intellect" ”Unforged

    Gloves
Spelltwister’s Gloves: (Crafted BoE) Hit 373/ Mastery 532/ Socket Bonus: 60 Int
"Enchant Gloves – Greater Haste,Veiled Imperial Amethyst" “Mastery Reforged to Crit

    Waist
Girdle of Endemic Anger – Hit 471/Crit 401(Lorewalker Stonestep, Temple of the Jade Serpent) "Living Steel Belt Buckle. Brilliant Primordial Ruby" “Unforged

    Legs
Leggings of Unleashed Anguish – Crit 636/Haste 429/Socket Bonus: 60 Crit (Lilian Voss, Scholomance) "Greater Cerulean Spellthread, Veiled Imperial Amethyst" “Unforged

    Boots
Scarlet Sandals – Hit 372/Crit 425/Socket Bonus: 60 Int(Armsmaster Harlan, Scarlet Halls) "Enchant Boots – Greater Precision, Potent Vermilion Onyx" “Unforged

    Ring #1
Eye of the Tornado – Hit 339/Mastery 326(Master Snowdrift, Shado-Pan Monastery) “Mastery reforged to Crit

    Ring #2
Signet of the Hidden Door – Hit 254/Haste 381(Thalnos the Soulrender, Scholomance)
    Unforged

    Trinket #1
Vision of the Predator – Intellect/Crit on Proc (Striker Ga’dok, Gate of the Setting Sun)
    Unforged

    Trinket #2
Flashfrozen Resin Globule – Hit 847- On Use Int (Vizier Jin’bak, Siege of Niuzao Temple) “Unforged

    MH Weapon
Firescribe Dagger – Crit 276/Haste 225(Xin the Weaponmaster, Mogu’shan Palace)
    "Enchant Weapon – Jade Spirit" “Haste reforged to Hit” = 90 Hit/ 135 Haste/ 276 Crit

    OH Weapon
Inscribed Jade Fan (Crafted BoE) Hit 377/ Mastery 377
"Enchant Off-Hand – Major Intellect" “Reforge Mastery to Crit

End Result is 5107 Hit, 3096 Haste, 4972 Crit, 1249 Mastery, and 11490 Int

Hopefully this has some merit and is a starting point for most who are searching for a base line to build upon at 90. Cheers

Just because I asked myself this question, I decided to put together a list of the different item levels for Pandaria and where to get them:

    Item Level - Source
410 - Temple of the Jade Serpent, Stormstout Brewery
    435 - Shado-Pan Monastery
450 - Mogu'Shan Palace, Tailoring (PvP), Honored reputation JP gear
    463 - Heroic 5-man, Scenarios
476 - Last boss of Heroic 5-man (1 item), Tailoring (Imperial Silk), LFR Mogu'Shan Vaults
483 - LFR Terrace of the Endless Spring, LFR Heart of Fear
489 - Mogu'Shan Vaults, Revered reputation VP gear
496 - Terrace of the Endless Spring, Heart of Fear, Tailoring (Blood Spirit)
    502 - Heroic Mogu'Shan Vaults
509 - Heroic Terrace of the Endless Spring, Heroic Heart of Fear
516 - "Heroic Elite" gear (drops from certain heroic bosses in hard mode)

    EDIT: Added reputation gear.
EDIT 2: Added 516 gear. Thanks Divr.
EDIT 3: Added Scenarios gear. Thanks Igloo and Soulstrike.

Would you happen to have a full breakdown of all the stats with this set...and then change the MH/OH to the epic staff and give the full list of stats as well? Im quite curious as to what the differences would be and what the full setup is looking like in both cases.

Your missing the 516 heroic elite items from killing the last boss differently in the one raid.
