Well, I happen to disagree. I explicitly asked Mr. Eternal to write out what he was failing at trying to say--I figured that he had some kind of crush on me, but I needed him to write out the WHOLE thing so I knew what I was getting into.
It was the best email ever.
It's easier, in my opinion, for a woman to be able to accept things on her own terms if she can read them at her own pace, rather than being forced to deal with them in the moment. For instance, I'm sure the look of surprise as I read the email might not have had quite the impression that I wanted to convey once I actually came to grips with what was being said.
It also allowed me time to evaluate my own feelings and decide on a plan, rather than feeling obligated to come up with a response right away.
