Mists of Pandaria has a score of 83% based on 14 reviews on gamerankings

Almost 1 month after release, Mists of Pandaria have only 83.43% score based on 14 reviews. Compared to other expansions this score is low. What do you guys think? Do you agree with this score?

I personally would rate it higher, in the lower 90s. Its not perfect, at least not a month out. It is however, a massive step forward from Cataclysm, and seems to be heading in the right direction. This, of course, is all opinion, and everyone will have one of their own. I feel there is so much to do, it has something for everyone. Although, someone who plays for only one single aspect of the game (ie. hardcore raiding) may feel it lacking, but anyone who plays it as an MMO should be more then happy with it.

All kidding aside, I think that's about right. This expansion's opening barrage has me less interested than the other expansions, despite the refined cinematic style.

Sounds ok. If it was an MMO site than maybe would have more.

MOP certainly has a lot of improvements over CATA.. but comparing it with every other video game of every different type ever? maybe the 83% seems a little high.

Anyone who looks at % score or x/y without generous heaps of salt is a fool. I am still waiting for the day that someone can explain the difference between an 85% and a 86% game. I can't wait until we move past the horrible system of trying to give an arbitrary score to a game, as if those values have absolute meaning.

This is also pretty missleading. You can find 10 very serious gamingsites that have given MoP really bad reviews. I haven't tried it yet, but I think WoWs always worth 7ish/10.

Scores are pointless and only serve to encourage people to make snap judgements about games and, well, anything in particular. They'll miss out on a lot if they pay any serious attention to review scores.

The other thing is that 83% is low now? 'Only' 83%? Proof that review scores are garbage: for some bizarre reason in the gaming community, any game that gets less than, say, 85% is worthless.

50% should mean it's an average game: not good, not bad. 70% means it's a solid investment, will give you a lot of hours of fun (especially if you're a fan of the franchise). 80% means it's a great game, contender for game of the year; 90% means it shits gold bricks and gives you orgasms.

Not the current idea of, 90% and over = good. 80% and over = average. Under 80% = worthless garbage.

So yeah. Fuck review scores.

We're at the point now where giving a game a 80% or 8/10 score is considered a failed game, not just for WoW but for any game published by a major developer.

I enjoy WoW but anyone with a realistic mind knows they pay for scores...I don't mind that much myself, but people are so easily fooled.

Because reviews do matter. Name the last time you purchased a big-ticket item like a TV, major appliance, movie or so on without looking at at least ONE review to see what others thought of it?

Now when it comes to a series like this, most of us will purchase it because we liked it in the past. For those who were disillusioned by Cataclysm, they might want to see reviews before taking the plunge and hoping things changed for them.

No, but I think a lot of people here are thinking that because they don't want to read reviews for MoP specifically that reviews are pointless and no one should ever look, and that's not the truth. For them, perhaps, MoP doesn't need a good or bad review. They purchased it and they're playing it. For others, they will be influenced by it.

...It might also be because they're 12, and most countries prevent children of that age from working.
