Elementalist help.

Hey guy's so I like to play elementalist a lot. However the issue im running into is Im constantly getting destroyed by mesmers/thiefs/necro's every other class it is usually a close fight. Im currently running a staff build with 6/6 rune Rune of the elementalist and Sigil of supreme energy for weapon.

That is my current trait and utility skills set up. Is my build wrong or maybe my runes? Or can anybody recommend some other weapon builds. Staff is my favorite but i like daggers to but noticed I died often. Also instead of making a new thread but is there any sites you guys can recommend I use to research stuff my own in the future?
