We are interested in more classes, but these are our missing spots at the moment.

The Treehugging Hippies formed just a few days after Runetotem opened on the EU realms and is now the second server's oldest remaining guild after Rapture. The guild was initially formed by members of an online gaming clan called Eat Electric Death, but since then has been joined by many more new friends from across Western Europe with the heaviest concentrations of players from the United Kingdom, Sweden and Norway but with additional players from as far away as Portugal, Greece and even Australia.

The Treehugging Hippies originally sought not to become an uber raiding guild. Instead we have a wider spread of levels of characters, many more alts and a large body of casual players. However as time drew on and raiding became all that was left to do in the pre-TBC World of Warcraft, the Hippies became gradually more serious about raiding until we became a guild that takes raiding seriously.

We have the requisite web site functionality to support organized raiding including a busy web forum, guild roster and a DKP-like system we call Tree Points which is pretty much normal DKP with a hippie twist.

We are currently seeking new active players where we can offer the following:

    1. Mature English speaking guild, no teenage tantrums, plz m8 etc.
    2. Infrastructure: web site incl forums, event calendar, roster, DKP system, Teamspeak server.
    3. Regular raid runs in the standard level instances to equip new players and progression to heroics.
    4. Mentoring on end-game content strategy by seasoned veterans.
    5. A generally positive, friendly and horizon-expanding atmosphere on forums, chat and so on.
    6. Older players friendly, female players friendly (we have several female members already) and so on.

It is important to us not misrepresent what we can offer new players so equally, here is a list of what the Treehugging Hippies is not:

    1. Elite mad-skillz 80s-only guild - first to take down new bosses.
    2. Uber raiding guild with enforced attendance
    3. Rigorously structured guild with rules, processes and so on.

If progress in the game is more important to you than a friendly group of players, then you probably want to aim for another guild. However if you want a pleasant, mature and expansive guild experience with solid progress which includes the end-game content, then we have possibly more to offer since the Hippies believes that top players are fostered from within the guild rather than simply recruited from elsewhere.
That means you're more likely to get into the Hippies because we like you than you are if you have 400 item level and you've cleared Dragon Soul as part of a previous guild.

We encourage our members to use teamspeak and talk to us so we can properly get to know each other and indeed it is essential for raid participation, even if you're just listening. You shouldn't be self-conscious about your spoken English though, we have plenty of strange accents and that's all part of the fun. If you prefer to remain anonymous, however, we probably aren't for you. We're looking for people to make an investment into us, so that we can make an investment into you. We like people who will talk on Teamspeak.

    About age limits

18 years is our general rule. We do have a few people younger than that but they're hard work on occasion. As for recruiting someone younger than 18, that depends on someone knowing you well already really. If not, you'd not be considered from the outset, sorry. Guild age average is probably early 20s. Some of the officers are early 30s, and we've a few a good deal older than that, so we're not kids and we tend not to want to put up with 'young' behavior.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Good luck, whatever your decision!
