[Ret] Fix my DPS!

I have a question about cd usage and trinket procs. Do you blow your CDs every time they are up, or wait 10-20 secs for a trinket proc then using them?

This is something I have to test on the target dummy. I dunno if it make a huge difference to delay it for the next proc.
I know only Execution Sentence take a snapshot of your attack power when you pop it. Light hammer doesn't.

But I always wonder, when my wings or ES come back if I need to wait for a proc ( trinket, dancing steel ). I think the answer is yes, but Im not sure. I hate when I have to rely on a trinket proc for my cooldown and then the proc happen right before a "dead" momment of the fight. (i.e. Juggernaut Heoric when you enter the 2nd phase and stack at the back of the room)

As a dps you want some idea of when your trinkets will come up again. They don't always naturally line up, but it is worth waiting a bit for a proc. That doesn't mean it needs to line up with the first 10 seconds of your Avenging Wrath though. You should have a weakaura or other mod that gives a countdown of the internal cooldown of your trinket telling you when it's possible for it to proc, and line up your cds around that time. Sometimes you'll only be able to line it up with one trinket, sometimes both. What you use and when depends a lot on which exact trinkets you have.

Think about it like this: You want to get as many 'uses' of your cds as possible in a fight. If a fight is 5m long I should have Avenging Wrath at 0s, 2m, 4m, so 3 uses total. Guardian at 0s and 3m. Therefore there's 30s of 'wiggle room' and my AW+Guardian should be used together twice. Waiting for your trinkets is then fine, but if you wait and use AW after the 2.5m mark, you'll lose more and more time on your 3rd use of AW. It's not worth waiting forever for trinkets, but it is worth it as long as it doesn't take away uptime on your cds.

A lot of it has to do with how long the fight is.

you don't need to wear 5 piece tier, unless those are higher ilvls. I believe BIS is 4pc with legs from garrosh being offpiece, that said: you could drop shoulders for the ones from protectors? (the haste/mast ones) or the ones from immerseus. I can't really tell whether your dmg is good, since I'm a 25 man raider and the numbers differ, but it seems like you are doing fine, depending on your assignments for each fight. Keep in mind, to achieve top ranks, you need to pad. You could swap out a few str/haste gems for exp/haste and that would allow some more reforging.

Questions, concerns, expectations: Just a general feeling of not doing as much DPS as I should with my gear level. I haven't got another Ret in the raid to compare myself, but it's obvious I should be doing more. What I am doing wrong, is something I haven't been able to figure out.
Description of Playstyle: I use the priority taken from EJ which is generally accepted as being the default priority of Ret, and I generally try to avoid padding the meters with AoE (Divine Crusader Procs notwithstanding). I might still be stuck in the Cata mindset of "Exo on cooldown, Pop TV the second you can" due to taking a 18 month break during dragon soul, only having been back since late november though.

For starters, you should be using SW for all single target fights.

For a patchwerk style boss (Iron Juggernaut in SoO closest one) figure out how long your guild takes to kill it and then figure out how many cds you can get into it while still getting as many SW + GoAK lined up, if that means you have to delay your second goak to fit the next AW then so be it. Once you've done that you should come to a conclusion on how to do the fight and how long you can (potentially) delay your cds without losing out on a full duration AW/GoAK and more importantly a combo of those two.

keep in mind that TTT gives you 5-10% more mastery/haste and not crit. It increases crit damage but the chance for you to crit is still the same, you could "cheat" Mr.Robot and tell him that the mastery (and haste) value is x% (x being the % your ilvl TTT gives you) higher than what Mr.Robot works with. Never tried Mr.Robot so idk, really dislike the site :P

Put my character inn Mr.Robot set haste cap to 17000, told me to go down to 16500 (which is wrong information) so I told it to keep me above 17100 haste rating and now it's telling me that my reforging and gem is optimal.
Anyways here's the stat weights it gave me.
Haste(to 17100) : 3
Mastery : 2.9
Crit : 2.7

Could just be your ilvl is such that crit is better, with correct itemization and high enough ilvl mastery is (imo) significantly better than crit.

Ask Mr. Robot automatically increases the stat weights of haste, mastery and spirit if you equip an amp trinket. So if you want 100% exact results, reduce your haste and mastery stat weights that were calculated by SimC before you enter them in AMR:
<SimC Haste> / 1.0x = <AMR Haste> where x is your amp trinket percentage (e.g. 1.0754 for 2/2 normal)

Alternate glyphs and specs -> I normally have Execution Sentence and Glyph of Double Jeopardy instead of Glyph of Mass Exorcism and Lights Hammer. The spec right now is for AOE fights.
Recent DPS -> Should really log stuff but the last one I recall was around 240k on Sha of Pride 10N.
Concerns -> I'm not sure I'm doing enough. I'm a bit rusty after having taken a break recently but I feel like I'm messing up somewhere. I know the 2 set bonus should be there. The Chestguard was a...sleep deprived mistake. Haven't been able to sort it out just yet. My general rotation/priority is Inquisition, 5HP, Templar's Verdict. CDs wise I lineup Avenging Wrath, Synapse Springs and GoAK together. Once at 12 stacks I pop Execution sentence and crack on. After that I try and lineup the same CDs when possible whilst using Avenging Wrath on CD. I do always use my utility wisely so I'm not messing up there, but I feel like there's something not quite right. I needed some advice.

I feel like my DPS is really low compared to everyone else in my raid, and I'm not sure what the issue is. I thought maybe Inquisition was falling off, but I had 97% uptime on that particular fight, which seems pretty ok. Also it is worth noting that on this fight i soak melee puddles which means for a few seconds I cant do anything but judge, hammer etc. However, I fall behind in DPS on other fights too (Sha of Pride here: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/r...?s=2861&e=3196) so I don't think it's a reason for lower dps here.

p.s. i know i'm missing the bracer enchant.

The only thing that stands out to me is that you're casting judgment so much more frequently than crusader strike. Even if you're soaking puddles I don't think it should be that dramatic.
