I plan on spending a week traveling in Romania in September. Otherwise I know that I like Sarmale, and I know of the wild bears that roam all over the place, and Romania is also a very "heavy metal" country.
This is wrong. This is very wrong. The most popular type of music here is rap/house. There is also another type of music found commonly among the gypsies and white trash, but you don't need to know about its existence.
But yeah, there are a lot of people who listen to rock/metal as well. I mean the tickets for "The Wall" concert by Roger Waters are out. So were the tickets for AC/DC and Iron Maiden.
And please spend your time in Transylvania(with the bears) or the Danube Delta(unique in Europe, and possibly even in the world, if you want to see something special). There are less gray, depressing communist buildings around there.

Roman Empire, Caesar and shit.
"This is no swaggering askari, no Idi Amin Dada, heavyweight boxing champion of the King's African Rifles, nor some wide shouldered, medal-strewn Nigerian general. This is an altogether more dangerous dictator - an intellectual, a spitefull African Robespierre who has outlasted them all." - The Fear: Robert Mugabe and the martyrdom of Zimbabwe, Peter Godwin.
Their gypsies are experts in werewolves
Romania is a country that is popularily portrayed in my country as some undemocratic shithole filled with poor people. I've also heard it's a country that seems like it's untouched by the social revolutions of the 20th century.
I'd like to think differently, but I'm still not sure what Romania can offer me that other EU-states can't.
Named after Rome? Was on the border of the empire?
Big tech region there somewhere? Maybe not a Silicon Valley but something like it?

- One of the 2 countries in Eastern Europe to speek a Latin language (with macedonia);
- Nasty comunist dictorship that ended wit the dictator being executed during the revolution;
- The country that just got 12 second hand F-16 from the portuguese Air Force (take care of them, they are good planes).
Could type a few more things but i didn't wanted to cheat by googling it.
Simona Halep is Romanian.. and thats about it.
Dracula? Vampires? Honestly not much.
I know that some gypsies roll their babies into traffic so they can collect life insurances or grief money or w/e its called.
It has castles and vampires?
-=From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind claimed your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass that you call a temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you... But I am already saved.....
