I will always stand by the belief, that if you feel that you have to use bots to do the playing for you, then you should really try another game, maybe something that doesn't require a time investment - but alas, it seems to be the "in thing" to do on the EU servers I hear, so much so I keep seeing people going on about matches consisting of upwards of 80% botting players.
It has nothing to do with a "natural response" to anything other than, you're addicted to this game, should really quit playing it but can't, resulting outcome is cheating because of it - but that's really no excuse, more and more, in fact almost every day I see people trying to justify doing it, which is sad. You can rest assured that there are a bunch of people out there that are laughing all the way to the bank because of lazy cheaters and I don't blame them one bit.
HOOKED ON DIABLOL, GOOD TIMES ARE BEING HAD
Bot's aren't a natural response to a game flaw, they're the result of a player who wants to get ahead with the least effort possible. They have in existed in MMO's long long before WoW was even an idea written on a cocktail napkin, and they've turned up in basically any online game, albeit in a bit of a different form.
Keeping you interested and playing consistently is the formula for every MMO that has ever existed. Again, not new by any stretch.Today's games have a new design approach, they are made to keep you playing. Think about all the updates, expansions and even subscriptions, it means you will always have something to do in the game, right? WoW is the perfect example, a huge success (even tho declining year after year) for 8 years, you always have something to do in game. So here lies the point of this topic, "something TO DO".
Entirely subjective. If in Mario Bros. (example) the journey was fun and the end was rewarding, in WoW the journey is not fun, but you have rewards all the time.
Shitty pvp balance and terrible character progression to get to a competitive level both account for major and valid reasons why players bot bgs.

My opinion is that you're an apologist that's trying to sweettalk an excuse for deplorable and gamebreaking behaviour.
Looking marvelous in velvet.
Bots - used by people who make fun of casuals and nerds yet don't want to invest the time and still have the shiny stuff.
God, I love irony.
Ha ha! So this is like saying I have to rob a bank because other people have more money than me.
My opinion? I rather bot than do archaeology, fishing or grind honor for alts myself. It's not that I am lazy, I can just leave the bot on to do something for me while I am outside or spending some not-so-quality time with my gf.
I also pay my monthly sub with gold so the more gold I have the better.

Hi
I got a new brain and still think what you're saying is simply wrong.
Maybe you should follow my way: get a new brain and rethink your post.
I work in the IT business. My job is just simple: Take every repeatative thing from a human being and give it to a machine. The human can do other things, in which their dynamic character can progress. Doing a mindless job and on top of mindless, the exact same thing, will cause a burn out. A machine can go on where humans would collapse. Make better use of human resources and skills is what matters.
Strange but true, those that hate bots most, play all day every day.
The rest of us don’t give a shit either way.

I find bots dumb for things like BGs, dungeons and farming nodes, and other similar things, simply because you're ruining the game for other people.
However, when it comes to things like fishing and archaeology(?) which is a purely solo activity, and also mind-numbingly boring and repetitive, I don't mind much. Heck, I wandered into the thought of using bots for that myself. Personally I don't find much joy in standing near water, pressing a button and then having to pay attention because the time when you hook a fish is random.
