Sunny is the niece of SMs founder, and was born in L.A, but moved to Kuwait shortly after being born. From Kuwait they moved to Korea shortly after the Gulf war started which was when sunny was around 4 or 5. As a result of being so close to the war at that young age Sunny is extremely afraid of loud noises, especially things like fireworks. Which is a problem when you're in Girls' Generation and sometimes the stage people set of fireworks around the stage without telling them before hand! (Seen a few scenes where fireworks go of and the closest member to sunny runs and covers sunnys ears xD)
Sunny wasn't with SM at first but transferred there from a different record label a while before she debuted with SNSD.
They were all 18 when Girls' Generation debuted. Apart from Seohyun (16) Yoona (16) and Sooyoung (17)
