Why is the game so controversial?

Because it's a blatant copy of DayZ.

WarZ's ToS was actually an exact copy and paste of DayZ's ToS... even linked DayZ's website.

The game came out shortly after DayZ became popular, it's horribly unfinished... it's claims on Steam are outright lies (such as claiming that the servers can hold up to 100 players, when they can only hold 50)... you take fall damage by WALKING DOWN HILL.

The game is obviously still in alpha/beta stages, half of its "features" are missing, and they're advertising it as a complete game, asking you to pay full price for it.
AND the game has microtransactions, along with the initial cost of buying it. Items you buy via microtransaction, for REAL life money, get lost if you die.



There's been lots of people who have been asking for refunds on the game. The company who made it didn't just refuse them... it put those players onto a global payment blacklist. Basically making these players unable to buy games from any online source anywhere.

There's rampant hackers, too. And I've heard that this company's method of dealing with hackers is to just ban fucktons of players at complete random to "scare the hackers straight".
