So unfortunate, but at least he got to choose his end (more or less), allowed to go home and finish out his days there.

Sir Patrick Moore is now officially a legend.

For anyone wondering who he is, he presented a tv show called The Sky at Night, even this year, it's still a great show.

Not sure that helped for me, don't know who either of them are. But Rest in Peace anyway.

Guy was a legend who looked beyond the stars. Now he rests amongst them.

    RIP Patrick Moore

Also loved him as the Games Master in the early 90's. also used to watch The Sky at Night with my mum and dad as a kid. I got a telescope for my birthday that year although I never took it up as a serious hobby, (my telescope is gathering dust somewhere) I have alot to thank him for.

Sad news indeed. He was a legend on British telly. I never missed The Sky at Night when i was a nipper.

The show had the same permanent presenter, Sir Patrick Moore, from its first airing on 24 April 1957 until his death on 9 December 2012, making it the longest-running programme with the same presenter in television history.

Did some research as I to, had not heard of this man. The astronomy community will be missing one of it's finest.

    RIP gamesmaster

in all seriousness, i thought he was a legend, he was still presenting the sky at night at 89 years old, purely because he loves astronomy that much. i think i actually watched the most recent episode and it's hard to believe it's the last time i'll see him, makes me sad.

it's a shame, he was a lovely old man and will be greatly missed by the astronomical society.
