Ashes of a'lar is the most overrated mount in this game. I only rode that thing the first 2 weeks I had it. It's fugly.

lol got TLPD first day it got out and Aeon few weeks after i dinged 85

and farming ashes since lvl 80 on 3 toons and didnt see it drop ye x(

You can't compare the two and say one is more difficult to get. One is a rare drop while the other is a guaranteed drop from an enemy on a timer.

Al'ar can only be farmed once a week and you have to get lucky on the drop.
Aeonaxx can be farmed multiple times a week, but you have to compete against other players. You can still luck out and catch him as he's spawning when you're checking to see if he's up. I'd say the chances of that happening are the same as getting Al'ar to drop.

It just comes down to who's luckier.

I think The Golden King looks pretty amazing. Spectral steed is pretty nice too.

Wouldn't put Ashes of Alar anywhere on the first 100 though. It's horrible, always has been. Even at top graphic settings it looks like half a chicken on fire. Firehawk that drops off Ragnaros is around a million times better looking really.

Stun/daze/silence doesn't make it easy. Other than that, walk in the park.
So he's probably caster without a pet.

The Phosphorescent Stone Drake off Aonaxx in Deepholm is IMO the sexiest mount in the game and also hard as fuck to get since Aonaxx shares a re-spawn timer with another rare NPC called Blood-Seeker.

im sorry there are WAY cooler mounts then ashes.....ashes is so over used same for spectral tigers i hate both of these mounts and would never spend money on either of them imo the pureblood fire hawk is waayyyy better then ashes

Ashes, Spectral Tiger and Raven Lord were all very cool and sought after mounts back in the day, but there's waaay nicer mounts nowadays.

Infact, I would take the Dark Phoenix mount that you can buy from the guild vendor over ashes any day.
