Nono - I'm not accusing you of making someone feel inadequate, just offering another perspective. If someone in her past has made her feel that way, it can take a bit of work to get around.
But reading your further comments, it seems like there isn't a spark between you... you can't really get past that, imo.
There's nothing wrong with wanting an emotional, a mental and a physical connection with someone (obvious innuendo aside )

It's true, and since I grew up in that community myself, I just don't see relationships as anything but serious business. I could be pounding all sorts of girls if I wanted to, but I don't. It's just not me. That doesn't mean I want to wait till marriage or that I think it's a grave moral sin to have sex with the woman you love. It simply means my time table is probably longer than other people's. I want her to feel confident and I want her to be in love with me.



Yeah, I think you should just let her comet to it in her own time. In all honesty, I don't think religions or lack of religion should co-mingle. Each religion (or lack of it) has different values, and those values effect most areas in a person's life. It also raises questions about how you'll raise the kids. Will they go to church? Will you read them Bible/Koran/whatever stories at night? Do you let them choose for themselves? I think it's messy. I believe people should have the right to think what they want, but I think trying to mix together two value systems is dangerous. It's not that it hasn't worked before, it has, but it usually creates conflict in the marriage. I'd rather just date a morally grounded woman who isn't religious than try to make our belief systems align.

I feel that's my responsibility as a parent - to provide them the information they need to make an educated choice, not to choose for them.

And that's your right. It's tough to pass up a viable choice because of one factor, but sometimes that one factor is a deal breaker.
