Im the same been depressed for the past 5 years now days i seem to be able to hold the depression back sometimes until the odd time when i just cant take it anymore happens around once or twice a week.

That's almost certainly clinical depression. You should look into getting that treated, if it's making it hard to live life.

It could very well be something more too. I know mine comes back frequently and for some long periods of time.
