I had 100 mounts in WOTLK, got that Blue Dragonhawk mount everyone drooled over along with that expensive ass motorcycle. Then Cata hit, and all those efforts were pointless and the mounts was basically garbage again.

That's when it hit me that I really really wasn't enjoying that game anymore, and everything was just a pointless time sink grind that was rendered useless and obsolete in the next patch/expansion and you were forced to do it all over again. Played it for another month, and then got burnt out, and never came back.

I Played since late in Classic, but didn't even care that my character managed to get hacked after I left. All I did was request it special banned until I say otherwise, which I never will. (that way hackers couldn't lock me out of Diablo/Starcraft)

I got bored and just quit as soon as I got all the legendary pokemans in W1

Now in W2 I've done all that and much more, and I am still finding new secret areas frequently.

While you can have your own opinion, isn't that the same with everything we do? Always moving to the next thing as we forget what is no longer able to help or work for us? We do this with objects, toys as we are children, bands and technology as we are teenagers, we grow old with relationships as we become adults until we are done fornicating or even detest the person since they no longer work for you. Even friendships do the same as both people no longer get anything from the companionship from each other. At least in video games you see it coming.

We all throw away what is no longer beneficial to who we are and what we need.

I do that regularly. Over half my steam library is full of games that are uninstalled because it's highly unlikely I'll be playing it again any time soon, and if I want to play it, it's just a short download away.
