I know that but I am saying I thought I heard that it is close, however how close I forget.

Maybe I'm also thinking back to when people were talking about what would happen with the supposed 790 if the 780s indeed were GK110 chips. lol

    Translated quote:

"According SweClockers sources the launch of the GeForce Titanium to resemble that of the GeForce GTX 690th Partner Manufacturers must follow Nvidia's reference design to the letter and can not even put their own stickers on graphics cards. The performance is estimated at about 85 percent of a Geforce GTX 690."

    Intense!

No, try around 35%. The GTX 690 is slower, by about 10% to 15% of SLI'd 680s.

    I beg your pardon?

    http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/585?vs=586

    Try 5-10% at most.

No doubt with new drivers the 690s may have even pulled closer.

Also, your math is wrong about the Titan being only 35% faster than a single 680, a 690 is about 90-95% faster than a single 680.

    http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/555?vs=586

Thus, shave off 10-20% and you have anywhere from a 70-85% increase over a single 680 that the GeForce Titan is likely to give.

That was the original intention of what was said, how much faster would a single GeForce Titan be than a single GTX 680.

I do love your posts, Synthaxx. Obnoxiously informative! I take it VRAM to Disk is talking about using the RAM you install in your motherboard when VRAM runs out, or is it literally a disk, like SSD/HDD?

I think it would be awesome if this follows somewhat close to the price increase and we do see a good 70%~ improvement in power. :3

It is quite shocking to see it beating GTX 690 by a fair margin even if it is just a synthetic benchmark.

I wouldnt go so far. Might as well have been manufacturing issues that they have now sorted out.

But impressive numbers if they are true.

    I wonder how it'll run on PCI-E 2.0 16x slot... I really wouldn't want to buy new Mobo just for PCI-E 3.0.

GTX 690 gets a little bit of a bottleneck from PCI-E 2.0 16x (around 5% if i recall correctly), that might be the case with Titan as well.

If Titan is indeed at all more powerful than the 690, then it will be even more reason to have a PCI-E Gen 3 mobo.

sounds like a good excuse to also get that z77 chipset mobo ^^

Shit, if it actually makes good use of the Gen3, I'll have to replace my 2500k so the PCIe 3.0 is available...

Yeah, or Z68, to be fair.

Though of course, anyone sitting on P67 like me, would be silly to go to Z68 when Z77 is available, would be silly. :P

Only reason I would do this though is if I miraculously got enough $ for a Titan... >_>

    Haha, doubtful.

i wonder if this will be the pinnacle card from Nvidia we have been waiting for, perhaps forgoing a numeral and just sticking with the Titan name

hmm, imagine what 3 of these in a Z87 chipset would be like

why 3 if 4 is the limit on a mobo? ^^
on the other hand i'd rather not lose my pretty 2600k but i guess i'll have to if i want pcie 3.0 support
this will be an expensive hardware year for me. (titan + mobo + cpu + new monitor)

Why not X79 so you can get the full benefit of the PCI-E lanes? Perhaps combined with a Ivy Bridge-E

    If I recall right, X79 doesn't have PCI-E 3.0. =X

    Unless I'm incorrect...
