Help trying to switch hard drives.

I currently have a Emachine EL1358G. I am preparing to build a pc from scratch and I am wondering if I was to wipe the hard drive from the Emachine would i be able to install that hard drive into my new pc? It would be awesome if I could cause that saves $75 cause its a 1TB.

    Yes, you can.

Just take the drive out, put it in the new system, put your OS install DVD in, and boot from the DVD. When it gets to the installation part, just delete all the partitions and start clean (assuming everything you want on it is backed up)

Using an SSD on the new system? Install windows on the SSD, then plug the HDD in and wipe the drive from windows.
