Both work and are tested. The one Rables posted is going to be more CPU intensive but exactly what you're looking for. The 2nd code doesn't update every frame so it lags behind a bit when you are in combat.
Edit: Oh and the code I reposted here (the second one) doesn't modify the cast speed if Backdraft is up so use the one Rables posted.
