Yeah, age doesn't really play a part in this. I didn't get Nintendo or gaming consoles and shit when I was younger. Instead I was smothered in Lego and creative stuff.

We actually have an alternate proc in the works for Hunters, we just weren't able to get it ready in time for this PTR push. Giving you the melee proc off of your pets was just a temporary measure

Cat celestial. Typically would do melee attacks. Was given a fancy melee spell effect. Hunters can't melee (unlike every other class that can use the physical dps cloak), so their pets do the shiny attack instead.
Makes sense.
