    Glaives

lately i've been trying to figure out why more of them aren't in the game. The models for them are on multiple npc's and the attack animations are there. Does anybody have any reason for why they haven't put more of them in the game besides the warglaives? I have tried tweeting ghostcrawler and posted on the forums but nobody has given me really any ideas

what can you do to glaives and yet still be seen as glaives? feels like they are a one off weapon type. change the color maybe? this isnt star wars. i guess if they were amazing, but thats subjective.

Because they are meant to be exclusive.

Well, the obvious is because they're legendary weapons, so that look is supposed to stay only on that weapon in game. (excluding npcs)

I agree, I am surprised we have not seem more glaive models used. The weapon type is all over the place in-game. NPC's from guards and quest givers to illidan himself have used them. Glaives as a weapon category in world of warcraft don't seem any more special than a short 1h sword or a dagger, the only special thing about glaives in wow is that there has only ever been one usable set by players. There should be more glaive models!

lol maybe i just feel like those arent good enough answers but they're all viable. i just dont see the animation for the glaives of azzinoth the sole reason for them being legendary.maybe im just looking at it the Rp way but the warglavies felt legendary cause their illidans blades and i know those are his. but what about the different model glaives (silithus npcs and the bloodelf guards)those arent legendary there everywhere what made the warglaives special is the look not the weapon neccesarily. But thats just imo.

i dont think he means the huge green one's.

But the weapon type in general.Like what the regular demon hunters were using.

Its a rather awkward model really given the attack animations and how the weapons basicly look cool but arent very practical

This is more of a thing where less is more. even with the more basic designs that other Demon Hunters in the games have

Only the warglaives of Azzinoth are legendaries, other warglaives seeable on PNJ have nothing legendary at all.

Because we can't have -that- many weapon types in the game. Otherwise boss loot tables would be tough to make equal for all of them.

ive seen them used and other games and it seems they would be used more for fighting multiple enemies from what i think the principles are but thats besides the point. i know plenty of people who would like to see newer models and what not even adding them to the game for rogues, monks, shamans, warriors, etc to use . i would implement them as a separate weapon class but thats just me

I'm... having trouble understanding this post. Are you trying to say that they wouldn't be able to create multiple models for glaives? Because I feel like it'd be just as easy as any other weapon type in the game.

Monks generally do not use weapons when attacking.

I think glaives are just not very um....they're animation are not the easiest to make, and the weapon type is very debatable, everyone of the is a polearm besides the legendary one.

Glaives were polearms, so there are a few in game. Glaives in the 1980s style are throwing weapons, which has traditionally been a almost useless slot and now doesn't even exist. Glaives as in Illidan's have no connection to anything else, they are entirely unique (outside of Illidari), no so wonder we don't see any of them around.

There's a Glaive fist weapon in Gundrak Heroic. Fist of the Diety is what it is called.

Regardless, the animations would be a pain especially considering how many different abilities exist now, and how most of the standard animations would involve the characters cutting off half of their body.

yah thats kinda what im saying. maybe its partly my fault for not paying much attention, but it just seems like there isnt much room for creativity in this unique item and have it still be recognizable as the weapon type it is. those green glass looking tips are what stand out to me. gonna change their color? that feels too much like star wars and different color light swords or whatever.

that is part of the discussion, the op asked why we dont see more so, im kinda curious as to what options or styles or suggestions they have for adding more, how would it be done so that it is still instantly recognizable as glaives, without just changing the colors.

It's a good thing there aren't more in game, because it's all anyone would use and that would be dumb.

I think because of the legendary warglaive people are skewed of what a real glaive looks like...that kind of glaive looks like a bat'leth or a hook sword then a glaive.

since i dont think they are anything special, and are quite clumsy looking, i for one would instantly tmog them away. so im one less person to see with them equipped
