    Bartender Question

I'm using Bartender to manage my action bars and I've unchecked the "Enable" box for the Extra Action Button (I have it keybound, so I don't want it appearing in my UI). However, lately, sometimes the extra action button shows up anyway (it seems to always happen on Tortose). If, when it happens, I open up Bartender and enable and re-disable Extra Action Button, it goes away again...until the next time it happens.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Maybe a forced enable by blizzard based on the encounter design?

Blizzard do not interfere with the functionality of an addon without a good reason.
There are selected cases where they will change functionality to break one, or will due to negative impacts blacklist one but those cases are pretty rare.
There is no reason to do either in this case, since that button can be bound and therefore does not need to be visible.

My best guess is another addon being responsible.
One that itself has functionality for hiding/showing selected UI components.

If it bothers you that much, why not move it to a position where it's not visible. E.g. 100 pixels outside the screen..
    Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

The problem here is trying to identify something else interfering.
Moving off-screen does nothing to aid in that, just covering up what may be the source of other later issues.

A list of their addons could give us an insight as to possible culprits.

Well, the problem is, the button pops up on the screen, which he doesn't want..
Moving it off the screen, will make it irrellevant if it's show or not, as it's out of view..

Well we are just going to disagree on that then.

Moving it entirely off-screen is a possibility, of course, but as ComputerNerd mentions, I'd like to know why it's failing. I'm willing to resort to band-aid measures, if necessary, but I prefer to solve them properly if possible.

    The add-ons I'm using:

    AzCastBar
    Addon Control Panel
    Adibags
    Align
    Auctionator
    Aurora
    AutoVendor
    BagSync
    Bartender 4
    bMiniMap
    ButtonFacade/Masque
    Chatter
    Clique
    Damn Achievement Spam
    DBM
    Death Note
    Decursive
    Farmhand
    FlaskMinder
    Glamor
    Grid
    -GridIndictorCornerIcons
    -GridIndictorCornerText
    -GridIndictorSideIcons
    -GridIndictorSideText
    -GridSideIndictors
    -GridStatusDungeonRole
    -GridStatusHots
    -GridStatusPriestAoe
    HaloPro
    Hat Trick
    KAnnounce
    kgPanels
    Kong Automatic UI Hider
    Leatrix Text
    MogIt
    MoveAnything - MoP
    OmniCC
    OPie
    Postal
    Raven
    Sha of Fear Assist
    SharedMedia
    Simple Power Bar
    Skada
    SLDataText
    Stuf Unit Frames
    tekability
    Tidy Plates [Threat Plates]
    TipTac
    TomTom
    Weak Auras
    XLoot [XLoot Group]

    Any ideas would be appreciated!

Kong, and MoveAnything jump out to me as obvious ones to look at.
I use many of those addons myself, so can already say that some do not have that as an intended feature.
While not described as having that feature, I would take a look at Simple Power Bar since it does seem closely related.

If that does not help, then maybe with file content search such as FileSeek search your addon folder for files containing the text ExtraAction and see.

Yeah, I looked at those addons...if the extra action button were always missing or always being shown, it would be a bit easier to diagnose. It showing up randomly (or for a specific encounter) doesn't point to the proper behavior of those addons being the culprit, though it could be some unintended behavior.

Searching through code for ExtraAction is definitely a good idea, though tracing code for a conflict or error seems like it'll be too time-consuming to be realistic. I was hoping someone had experienced something similar or knew about some Bartender behavior that I didn't that could cause this.

Meant by searching for the text, you could quickly identify if an addon does anything with that button.
Looking through the code was not my intent, but simply to identify potential addons causing the issue.
At least then should it be feasible for a given encounter, to disable one or more addons and see if the issue is repeated.
