    Best class questlines?

I have started playing this game again. I quit somewhere close to the release once I got my jugg geared to high level and there was nothing to do after trying some other classes too. I have now become interested in doing the class quest lines so I can see all the story.

I got a problem now, though. I don't know which class quest lines I should do first. I at least think I'll do them all eventually, but I'd like to do the best ones first so I dont get bored. Atm I have done sith warrior and inquisitor quest lines (that one I liked a lot). Now that I started again I made a jedi consular and, to be honest, I'm bored out of my mind. The storyline for them seems to have nothing interesting in it. Is it that I'm just doing worse part of it? It was different at begining.

Anyway...I'd like to do the really good ones after I have played that consular trough. Suggestions?

I have a consular myself (next planet will be Balmorra) and i can't say much about it.

    1) trooper questline has very interesting turn of events on the starting planet but after that it becomes pretty much "boring" in terms as you have to do something similar as the consular has to do (go do this on that planet, go do this on another planet which is the same from the principal)

    2) bountyhunter... I played this one twice and I found it "ok" however in some elements Bioware could have given you more possibilities to continue the choice you are making

    3) jedi knight is something I'm really looking forward to because it hase something to do with the "main" elements of Star Wars (emperor) and a friend of mine which played through it said it was a "typical" jedi like story line.

    4) agent was really interesting in parts of that you are looking behind the scenes and learn a lot about the connection between the normal imperial armee and the sith part of the Sith Empire. The ending might be kinda... ? but the rest of the story line was really engaging.

    5) scoundrel... I just started this questline and so far it's what you would expect from a smuggler

The top 2 are fairly universally agreed to be:

    1) Imperial Agent - An excellent story, though at times feels more like a spy story than a Star Wars story (not saying that is a good or bad thing).

    2) Jedi Knight - Basically what the story would be if this was KotOR 3.

The Sith Warrior and Sith Inquisitor are also very excellent all of the way through (I rate Sith Warrior as #3 personally).

The Trooper is great in Act 1, then fizzles out (bonus points for having exciting Act finales though).

The Consular is the most underrated storyline in the game, but I do like it a lot.

The Bounty Hunter had a decent Act 1 and for me quickly fell flat the rest of the way. I could not get into it, but I did enjoy grappling enemies and giving them rocket-powered uppercuts.

The Smuggler has been the worst storyline for me because I still haven't finished it. Each time I try I log out within a few missions. But the dialogue choices are pretty entertaining.

This is pretty spot on! (From my experience). Trooper and Smuggler were complete Zzzzz fests. The jedi/sith lines were all pretty well done. The agent was by far the best. I actually like the BH story only because it was the first one I did.

I have done all 4 Imperial classes, plus Trooper on the pub side. Of those, Trooper was boring as hell. Inquisitor was fun but had some kinda draggy spots...had some awesome moments too though, and has probably the best companion related storyline in the game. Most people like this one less than me though, it's generally not as popular as a lot of the others. Bounty Hunter was kinda simplistic, a very "action movie" type storyline, though it was kinda fun and did a good job of making you care about the characters enough to overlook it. Agent is very...spy oriented, like, James Bond in Space. Based on the other times this question has been asked here and on other forums, this one is widely rated as the best or at least near the top, though a large part of it I personally really didn't care for it. Warrior was awesome though. The story itself wasn't anything super complex or mindblowing, BUT it has some truly memorable dialogue and probably the best antagonist of any of the 5 storylines I've played. Warrior also generally scores very high in polls/rankings when this question is asked. I've heard Jedi Knight is a great one too(it, warrior, and agent usually round out the top 3). Consular is generally speaking fairly unpopular, and it usually comes in near the bottom of the list.

My personal rankings of the 5 I know:
1)Sith Warrior-I like this one so much that I levelled 1 and was working on a second when I let my sub run out(not because I was unhappy with the game, just cause MoP was new and I didn't want to be paying for TOR when I knew WoW would be occupying most of my time). Even playing it through a second time I wasn't bored and was still enjoying the story.
2)Sith Inquisitor(I liked this one the first time through, though I would be a lot less interested in replaying this one than some of the others)
    3)Bounty Hunter
4)Agent(I could see this one having a good amount of replayablity though since there's multiple endings)
5)probably whatever class I play next whenever I resub
    6)Trooper(seriously, it's dull)

I think asking "what is the best story", is really hard to answer, because the stories are so unique in themselves. Like, the agent story is amazing, but if you dont like spygames and being constantly mindfucked, I dont think you will like it Where as the Smuggler is basicly dickcruising your way through the galaxy...

Imperial Agent - (Leveled Female and Male 55): You will like it, if you like plots, twists, mindgames and basicly being a badass Bourne-type!
    - It starts out amazing, and has contingency through out the entire story, both from a female and a male perspective. You get choices to either kill people, or seduce people, which really kicked me into loving the story. Its very vibrant, it holds through the entire thing, and you arent bored! All in all, a very good story! As a male you get two romanceoptions in Temple and Kaliyo, plus STDs on every planet - Female is pretty much the same, only you get bugsex from the creeper...
    - Gameplay: You can play it as healer or a rogueish type of class, along with a sniper. Healing in pvp and pve is amazing, the class has strong powerful heals, and feels very "successful". Sniper his does a fuckton of damage!

Bounty Hunter - (Leveled a female 55): You will like it, if you like claiming bounties, challenges, and mandalorian lore.
-The story is okay in it self. Its very much being a bounty hunter, cheap oneliners, and a face full of blaster. For me however, it got very tedious in the long run. Little romantic options and honestly - The mandalorian is nice I guess, but nothing worth mentioning. Other than that there is some romance on Alderaan thats very sparse. The story was not for me, and I felt it was just jumping from planet to planet killing scumbags. It has its kicks though.
    - Gameplay: You can play as pyro (tank and dps), or merc (healer and dps), and myself I am playing as pyro. Leveling up through warzones was major fun! You really get to kick some teeth in, and it has some punch to it... (rocket punch, no "pun" intended) I am playing it as a tank at 55, and im very satisfied with the mechanics

Sith Warrior - (Leveled as female and male 50): You will like it if you like destroying and dominating the galaxy, while getting revenge!
    - I loved the story! I expected it to be the contrary of the Jedi Knight, but it was totally different. You really get to feel like a powerful powertrain at times, and while the story feels contingent through all the acts, I feel the final chapter really blows me away! I was very satisfied with the story both from a male and a female perspective. Male does get more romantic options through the story, and feels more "true". The female options was lacking through the story, and well... No spoilers, but Quinn is annoying.
    - Gameplay: You can play as Juggernaut (tank and dps), or Marauder (dps), I chose both and leveled as Rage, which really seemed extremely powerful and fast in play. You are squishy at times, but with Quinn you will be almost unbeatable. That being said, the ragespec seems a little too easy at times and offers little challenge. Its a few smashes and roars, and you are pretty much through the fight.

Sith Inq - (Havent leveled one)

    ____________________________________________

Smuggler - (Leveled Male 30): You will like it if you like humping everything with female assets (and male assets)... Basicly everything with an orifice. (The nexu cat in your ship is not advised though........)
    - The mood of the story as a male is pretty much set from the first time you walk into the hangar on Ord Mantell! Its blaster pew pew, slick hair, and one hand on the blaster and the other scratching yourself. I did like the story up to act1, have yet to see the rest
    - Gameplay: Pretty much the same as Agent (I assume)

Trooper - (Leveled Male 50): You will like it if you served in the army, or like military etiquette.
    - The whole "elite unit" felt good, but strange at the same time. I understand that Bioware chose a special unit for the story, but you dont really get that "trench" feeling that one would have expected. I felt that I was playing a one man army sometimes, which kinda broke it for me. The story was alright, but it feels too "revengy" and perhaps fighting on the fronts of the different planets as a CO, would have been better For romance options there arent many through the story, but Elara Dorne feels alright. The romance options are brief though, and quickly through.
    - Gameplay: You can play as Vanguard (tank and dps) and Commando (healer and dps). I played it up as Vanguard and it felt extremely powerful! I had very little challenges through the story with encounters, and fights was over pretty fast. Very powerful endgame, especially as tank! Also the gear is fucking amazing...

Jedi Knight - (Leveled Female 50): You will like it if you like saving the galaxy with a lightsaber in your hand, and the peoples love in your other.
    - The story was very good. Very little to put a finger on, and basicly you are a Jedi Knight out to save the galaxy. It will feel a little stereo at times, going from planet to planet fighting off one threat of another, but it works well. Its an amazing story, and the finale is epic!! And T-7, enough said... Certainly a story everyone should play!
Romantic options was scarse though, but it didnt feel lacking for some strange reason. It doesent fit very well with the jedi story, so you wont notice it. Doc is pretty cool though... Cheeky bastard.
    - Gameplay: You can play as Guardian (tank and dps) and Sentinel (dps) - As the same with the Sith Warrior, playing watchman (I think it is... most right tree!) will have you cutting your way through everything! Its very powerful, and feels strong. As a level 50 tank you do feel you need some sort of "control abilities", like Bounty Hunter and Trooper has, but you have a lot of other options to make up for it though. The forcepushing is nice to control mobs though, and works very well.

Jedi Consular - (Havent leveled on)

Imperial Agent has the best class story, but Bounty Hunters get Blizz. So... it's pretty much a tie.

Having leveled all to level 50 and some beyond, my personal preferences are:

    1. Imperial Agent, tough to beat that story line.
    2. Jedi Knight, still my main, still my favorite character.
    3. Sith Inquisitor, had a few twists that I seriously did not see coming.
    4. Sith Warrior, well written questline over all.
    5. Trooper, not too bad, I like military stories and such.
    6. Bounty Hunter, not quite as bad as some people have made it out to be.
    7. Smuggler, snarky responses in the dialogue trees but nothing too memorable story wise.
    8. Jedi consular, not a bad story but probably the weakest of the bunch.
MLP Friendship Is Magic - Republic - The Harbinger
    The Madhi Legacy
    Slugfest - 55 Watchman Sentinel | Slugtrooper - 55 Gunnery Commando | Slugconsular - 55 Seer Consular | Slackfest - 55 Sharpshooter Gunslinger | Slugagent - 55 Marksmanship Sniper | Slugwarrior- 55 Annihilation Marauder | Slughunter- 55 Arsenal Mercenary | Slugsorcerer- 55 Lightning Sorcerer

Sith Warrior..... then, for a darkside character "the most awesome" companion (including the story to get her).

Personally i liked the Sith inquisitor the best when played as fully dark side with a touch of crazy in it.
    Warior was pretty good too.

Telling from the classes I have played so far, the Agent's Story is by far the best, I loved every moment of it.

I played the Bounty Hunter too and thought he was very interesting in Chapter 2 and 3, but the first chapter wasn't so good. They should have ended the great hunt at Dromund Kaas and from there on bridge over to the interesting parts. What I loved about the Bounty Hunter though is that there actually was plenty of interaction and between my crew in between Missions which gave this class a very good feeling. (I liked all the companions aside from the last one. I want to shoot him, badly.)

The Jedi Story flat out bored the hell out of me. Way to much klischee, way to repetitive and apart from some very major twists, it was easy to read what might would happen. Corellia and the ending where nice though I suppose. Had some not really needed companions though.

Yeah, the BH has a pretty likeable crew, though if I had my way I woulda thrown that last one out the airlock and never looked back. Inquisitor's group isn't that impressive, though Khem Val is awesome and has probably the best companion related storyline in game. Trooper's crew were all kinda meh to me, and it too featured a dude I would have happily left behind. Warrior has a pretty cool crew overall even though Quinn is a tool. Agent has some pretty sweet crew members too.

For the record, I played my guys as mostly lightside. The Trooper was extremely loyal to his crew(and close allies) and basically put them above everything, beyond that, he was a full on "do what's right" sort. My BH was a smartass "how much is it worth to ya" sort, but was still honorable and wouldn't usually kill his targets unless it was necessary(though he wasn't unwilling to kill, if they especially deserved it I took em out). My agent was...ruthless, but not evil. If someone was a genuine threat to the empire and I was tasked with killing them, I killed them without hesitation. Likewise, I was not very forgiving to those who used me in act 2, I was happy to see them die. But if someone I was tasked to kill was a case of misunderstanding, or if I didn't feel the person was a legitimate threat, I'd let them go. This actually resulted in my agent remaining "neutral" pretty much the entire campaign. I'd earn darkside points for killing some dude on one mission, then turn around and get lightside points for sparing some dude the next, cancelling each other out. He was also a wiseass, slept with anyone he could, and was more concerned about the well being of the Empire rather than the well being of the Sith(he had little respect for most of them). My inquisitor was batshit crazy, she killed(or shocked) just about everyone she had a chance to, though I let one go every now and then just to make her lunacy even more random. My warrior was very mercenary, he wasn't concerned about what the empire wanted unless he was getting paid for it(Vette loved that)...and even then, he had a code of honor so that he would offer mercy to most defeated opponents if given the chance, and he kept his word if it was given to someone who wasn't totally shady to begin with. It does make the game more fun to envision a personality for your character, then play them to fit the personality you picked...don't just say "I'm gonna be dark side" or "I'm gonna be light side" and pick every choice that gives you points for those, it's much more fun to pick the appropriate choice for your character's personality, even if it goes against their main alignment. Like with my warrior, he was honorable and spared most people...but no way was he letting the final antagonist live, even though it was worth dark side points and he was mostly light side.

Id say the worst is the inquisitor. Its extremely generic and the 'twists' are telegraphed miles before they occur. Fun class, very fun, but the story? eh, not so much.

That story was never set up to have a lot of "twists"? It was pretty straight forward, I thought, and wasn't even trying to "twist" things for the most part. And I dunno, the whole seeking out ghosts/communing with the dead was a bit less generic than some of the other stories(I mean, don't get me wrong, the warrior story is AWESOME, but it's much more "by the numbers" plotwise, young warrior is taken under Sith Lord's wing, becomes his protege, helps him gain more power, then is ultimately(and unsurprisingly) betrayed by Sith lord and thereafter seeks revenge it's just written so well you overlook it.

    Urhm what?

    Obvious spoilers:
A survival story centered around a slave forced into Sith training is generic? That's for the Inquisitor himself. Now the villains - neither Zash nor Thanaton's motivations were generic. Zash wanted to claim Inquisitor's body to survive while Thanaton opposed Zash and further on the Inquisitor because of his views on Sith tradition and order. While we can of course argue whether these motivations were well explained and believable, the fact is these are not villains with generic motivations. Baras is. A Sith who just wants more power zzzzz. Now to MacGuffins - the Sith relics in Act 1 were very generic yep. But the MacGuffins in Act 2 and 3 were very refreshing. Binding Force Ghosts and even more with finding cures for body and mind.

Tons of people complain that Inquisitor story wasn't about a scheming, treacherous Palpatine-clone and gaining power to rule the world. Now THAT would be generic. A personal survival story with rather unique villains and MacGuffins is not.

I'd have to agree with this. I'm currently playing my Jedi Shadow and while I heard a lot of people complaining about this particular story line as being boring etc. I don't see it as boring at all. It all comes down to the individual preferences but I didn't play a story which I couldn't continue because I felt it was written bad or had no logic at all. I'm currently not playing my gunslinger because I couldn't take that hot chick of Ord Mantell as my "Co-Pilot", if you know what I mean.

The problem with the consular story is Act 1 which is very dull. Act 2 and 3 are pretty awesome, you just have to trudge through act 1 which essentially repeats itself on every single planet. If you've gotten to the end of Act 1 and moved onto another class as Consular, give it another shot, it only gets better from there.

best story imo is the Imperial agent. also having the funniest companions, very interesting storyline with twists and turns.
the close 2nd is a tie between inquisitor and sith warrior. the sith warrior has better companions, but khem val always cracks me up on the inquisitor.

IA was amazing in chapter 2. The ending was horrible, though.
