Why do you like your class?

Instead of having a thread pop up asking what the most fun class is, why not ask you guys why you enjoy or dislike your class?

    I'll start.

    Paladin:
    + Bubble
    + Tanky
    + Survivability through heals
    + 3 specs
+ Plate gear (cool for transmog)

-Ret Pve rotation is kind of boring

    Warrior:

    -Charge
    -Heroic Leap
    -Mobility
    -Bladestorm
-Alot of great looking tier sets, for me at least (Tier 1,Tier 5, Tier 6, Tier 10, Tier 12, Tier 13), and most Plate armor looks great on orc female (aside from robes )

Overall feeling as a fury is very cool, especially when i doing some stuff like dailies, with good gear i just feel that i destroy my enemies, cutting limbs, heads etc

    Mage:

    -Blink has to be #1
-Portals (I can really feel not having them when I go on alts)
-Personal survivability via Greater invis and Iceblock
    -lots of CC
    When the going gets tough.
    The tough start bubble hearthing!

I have RaF up with a friend and I was heavily considering a warrior. They just seems more fun in every role than a paladin. Do you think this is correct? I like engaging classes.

    Monks:

    + Awesome fighting stance.
    + Badass abilities.
+ versatile fighters (healer, dps, tank).
+ 1-hand weapons appear on your back instead of by your belt.

    - not a lot of transmog options, but I can live with that!

I have to list 2, because they have always been with me. And I can't pick just one.

    Warlock
    - DoT's (weaker now than before, but still)
    - Using health as a partly resource, to get more mana, absorbs etc
    - Great lore
    - Fel magic, demons and rituals
    - Easy to play, difficult to master
    - Finally got green fire, after countless years of waiting
    - Old class quests made you feel more connected to your class, and made you feel like you where on an actual quest to gain more power.

    Druid
    - Favorite type of healing
    - HoT's
    - Shapeshifting, very versatile class
    - Great lore
    - Easy to play, difficult to master
    - Old Class quests made it a lot more fun, sadly these days you just train your shapeshift forms etc.

Do they have downtime? Like waiting a second or two before being able to do anything. I hate that!

They don't have downtime, there's ALWAYS an ability you can use.

I think you should give a warrior a shoot. They are fun, but also gear dependent alot (fury especially).

    (ww-)monk

    + high sustained dmg
+ several strong defensive abilities with low CD
    + good mobility
+ kicks, kicks and more kicks

    - no offensive (burst-)CD despite xuen (who hits like a wet noodle)
    - high ramp-up-time of tigereyebrew
    - half of the talent-tiers (1,2,6) offer no choice (at least for pvp). tigers lust mandatory, chi wave much stronger than the other options, xuen is weak but chi torpedo and rushing jade wind are even weaker

    Warrior:

    Great mobility
No silly magic, just fierce strength
Awesome abilities, like Bladestorm, Titan's Grip and Heroic Leap
    Nice survivability
Nice concept of a classic fighter: the mighty gladiator, the raging berserker and the vigilant defender

Something about a warrior seems more satisfying to me than blasting mobs to bits with a fireball, watch them suffer slowly, smite them with holy light, backstab them or whatever. That feeling when you charge into battle, smash your enemy with a devastating blow and cleave them apart... Wonderous! =D

    Hunter;
    Pets
    Fetch
    FD
    Tracking
    Ranged attack

  13. #13
    Druid - Resto - (PvP):

    + Insta-cast HoTs <3
+ Their nature themed spells and effects
+ Transforming into a bear when people try kicking my azz

  14. #14
Well like my main and main alt mostly because I have spent so many years on them.. I secretly really like moonkin though, and the only reason I can't seriously play one is the dead zone between eclipses along with balance mastery which crosses the line of clunky for me and there is little to no hope to get that fixed anytime soon.

    • Nature theme
    • Perfect fit for night elves
    • Can move very fast in travel and cat form, very slippery in pvp
    • Instant flight form
    • Great transmog available, guardian of cenarius title and raven lord fit nicely too
    • Moonfire/sunfire, starfall look awesome. Flashiest rotation out of all the casters.
    • Can see big starsurge crits
    • Astral form
    • Rejuvenation
    • Resto offspec (love resto too)

    Death Knight.

It's a fairly balanced class these days, I find I got a decent amount of utility, reasonable dps, a bit of fluff/interesting bits and it feels capable in most places you'd stick a tank or melee dps.

Flavour wise the idea of being almost a caster/melee hybrid feels like an efficient "I want to kill you" type class without the frills of eg a mage or the "martial prowess" of something like a warrior.

    Shadow priest, mainly PvE

    + Fears!
    + Shadowform looks great
+ Can currently soak great amounts of damage - 15 % passively, 90 % through CD and another 10 % through glyph (although they're removing the passive next patch)
+ Active rotation once you get some gear
+ Shield, prayer of mending, renew, off healing, vampiric embrace, life swap, life grip and last tier talents will always help you or your group stay alive a little longer
+ Two healing specs, one reactive and one defensive (too bad we can't carry all 3 specs at once)

    - Not very mobile
    - Burst is usually RNG
    - No other DPS specs available in case shadow performs badly

As a rogue I actually really miss buying vanishing powder, levelling lock-picking, finding shady-dealers to buy plants to make up my own poisons for my weapons... Rogues felt like they had this little underworld.

I know they've made it all more efficient now with magic poison pockets etc, but a MASSIVE part of the "character" of the class has been nerfed with the increase in ease-of-play.... and I really miss it

    Monk-
    Decent Sustained Damage
    Good silence(s)
    Alright CC
    Very good maneuverability
    Karma <3
Easy to run away from a losing fight (lol)

    Shadow Priest -
    Extremely good damage
    Potential Healerkiller
    Decent survivability
Can also escape from danger (lol again)

    Rogue-
    Can choose targets significantly easier
    Alright damage if done well
    Slows targets substantially
Can escape danger very easily (seeing a pattern?)

Paladin: Simply because they can tank and are the only tank that had a reasonable resource system at the time I started playing them, and now it's mostly out of old habit.

    WW monk.
    Pros
    1. Very good at 1v1 pvp, about which I care quite alot.
    2. Very good and reliable self heals with the right talents.
    3. Fun gameplay without being overly complicated and annoying like a sub rogue, feral druid or unholy dk.

    Cons
    - clunky gap closer mechanics that don't put you on target.
    - is the bitch of any hunter with more than 2 neurons in his skull.
