Mafia 29 Sign Up Thread

Got off work a half hour early today, and I found myself in my car waiting for my carpool buddy...who didn't get off early. So here we are, with another sign up thread. I plan on sending out confirmation messages Friday or Saturday. It all depends on what kind of game size we can generate. If all goes well, we can start Sunday or Monday.

This game has no special theme. The story that accompanies it is just for my (poor) writing pleasure. There may or may not be clues in the text, but at the moment I am planning on no hints inside the story. That could change though. Days and Nights will have standard time deadlines, but I do work a very weird schedule, so I may not get to officially end day or night right away. That's where Krayzy will step in. Unlike Keleb's previous game, the hammer vote WILL end day. There will be no dusk. I ask that there be no discussion between the hammer and the official call for night.

Majority vote will determine lynches. I really liked what Keleb did with the voting rules last game, so I may adopt them. More on that when the game begins (or before we close out this sign up thread). I haven't decided whether a player needs more than 50% majority, or just the most votes at deadline to be lynched. More to come on that as well.

Forum bans will be handled as they have been in previous games. You will be incapacitated with no night action if you receive a ban, so please don't. Any ban that I seem of an excessive length (possibly 5 days or more) may get mod killed. I will have more of a concrete answer to that as we approach the start. I want no ambiguity when the game is playing. Also, no mod kill or inactivity. That will be up to the town to decide what to do with inactive players.

I'm worried about majority vote though. Will we get votecount updates more frequently than the last game (Keleb only did it at the midpoint of every day phase)? 'Cause I hammered the second time without knowing the count and well, I turned up as hella suspicious overall.

Keleb only wanted one updated vote count (which has good reasoning behind it) per day cycle. I like giving them a bit more often and as far as I know Rollo is okay with that.

Yeah, I got the reasons for it in that setup but just wanted to know if we may get it more frequent in this since he's doing the majority vote thing.

Also, you might want to put in the OP that to sign up, you have to actually make it clear in this thread that you want to play, I'm sure if a new player was to read this thread, they'd figure out that all you have to do is post intent to play, but in case they don't, might as well clarify.

I sign up. I've played a similar game IRL called Werewolf and have looked up the rules on a wiki called mafiascum.
