I use an adblocker and whitelist sites I trust. That includes stuff like wowhead, mmo-champion and the various youtubers and twitch people that I watch.

I didn't mind the early static .jpg ads. Guess what though, if you're going to fill up my whole screen with your pop-out Flash ad... no go fuck yourself.
The instant ads stop having malware in them is the instant I'll stop using it. Until that day, adblock remains in service.
As already stated above, there are several reasons to USE AdBlock. I don't see that changing any time soon.
If you're basing supporting your family off streaming yourself playing a video game, you're doing it wrong!
When it comes to adblock, like many have mentioned it before, when ads stop being so intrusive and filled with spyware I might consider taking it off, but probably not.
There's a reason I pay more for DVR at home, so i can record what i like and skip commercials. Youtube pays youtubers per view, now if you want to get an commercial on top of that more power to you, but don't ask me to waste 30 sec of my time just so you can make 10 cents.
Yeah I don't care that they lose money on me blocking ads when there ads are intrusive and could potentially compromise my computer in the process. Maybe if they made them in a less intrusive manner and if half the adds weren't trying to sell me useless shit or install crap on my computer then I'd stop using ad block. But we all know that day will never come.
The radio said “No, GamerLCD. You are the demons”
And then GamerLCD was wrong as hell.
No one mandates what I see on my client. My browser, my eyes, my mind. GTFO adverts.
You aren't getting viruses from there being ads on a website, the hell are you talking about?
Anyway
If ads didn't have noise and weren't obnoxious I wouldn't use it. Hell, I make money off Youtube videos and I still use adblock so I don't have to see ads. They're just completely annoying, for a while I had a few sites I liked whitelisted, but I can't even be asked to do that anymore. Companies need to realize they'd make more profit by having less annoying ads.
It seems to me the streamers with the worst content have a monopoly on the WoW viewer base unfortunately, it's kind of disappointing to me when people really do try to be entertaining but can't gain any traction due to these kind of people
You do realise that Towelliee makes most of his money from his 2k+ twitch subs and donations, right ? You can't live off of ads on twitch, you make your money with subs and donations.
Edit: I tried to turn off adblock on twitch, but after getting several ads that where youtube videos inside the twitch player that you had to click for them to play and watch them entirely (without being able to mute them) to be able to keep watching the stream, I turned it back on.

currently 94010 ads blocked. Does that upset you OP?
I whitelist streamers I actively support (such as manvsgame) and only when they are not intrusive asses constantly running advertisements. I have watched streams where the guys want to run ads every 20 mins. Not to mention website with the obnoxious video ads which blast out at ridiculous sound levels with no way of stopping them.
Adblock remains because the consumer is not happy with what they are bombarded with. Companies need to realize adblock is the market talking to them and saying it is not good enough.
People will always find ways to make money from sites adblock or not, don't you worry one bit.
Technically it's this self promotion, like the mods don't seem to care for...
