Official Guild Wars 2 Invitational $10,000

Announcing the Guild Wars 2 Invitational and Regional Qualifying Tournaments

    https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a...g-tournaments/

We’re proud to announce the very first Guild Wars 2 Invitational Tournament on August 31, 2013 at PAX Prime! We’re teaming up with our partner MMORPG.com to host an exciting PvP tournament where the top North American and European teams will face off in a best-three-games-out-of-five match with a cash prize pool of $10,000 on the line.

To determine which teams from each territory will qualify for the Guild Wars 2 Invitational Tournament, teams of five players from Europe and North America will compete in regional qualifying tournaments hosted by MMORPG.com and Mist League.

The European regional tournament will be on July 27-28 and the North American regional will take place on August 3-4.

Both regional qualifying tournaments will have a maximum of 32 teams. The format will be five vs. five single elimination matches, and the winners of each match will be determined by the victors of two out of three games. After the qualifying tournaments are complete, the winning teams will be hosted on August 31, 2013 during PAX Prime for a competition between the two best Guild Wars 2 teams.

We’re very excited to be working with both MMORPG.com and the Mist League on this tournament, and we can’t wait to see the incredible competition at the regional qualifying tournaments and to host the Guild Wars 2 Invitational Tournament during PAX Prime 2013.

Registration will open next week, for players that live in Canada, United States of America, Mexico, and European Union countries and are 18 years of age or older, so solidify your team and watch GuildWars2.com for more information about registration, rules, and eligibility requirements.

Twitch is lagging horribly even though speedtest says I have 57 Mbps down and 4Mbps up though...

i watched the EU Qualifiers and i have to say they were very impressive and for TP to win it with Xeph and Phanta playing new professions is just amazing, got to give it up to that Teldo and Aszhene carry, haha. but just imagine what they will be like once they play them as effectively as their mains...scary.

They were before but they dropped that team for some reason and weren't all that talkative about it. I poked around a bit but nobody from the old team is willing to talk about it...

I'd be pissed if I was on Car Crash and was up 2 to 1 then ended up losing 2-3.

I'm a little surprised SYNC beat AL. AL was playing super shitty though in those final matches, could have been back capping and shit the entire time but instead it was like watching a hotjoin with people fighting on point for an hour.

Paradigms new name is gay as fuck fyi

Most teams aren't that good TBH. I think there are 4 actual teams that can be called "pro" and that's it.
The big batch is definatly better than "pubs" but are far from on par with other teams, the problem is that people think the moment you beat other teams with a big lead you're good (which isn't necessarily so).

Yea it's kinda how GW1 pvp is right now, you can get pretty high up in GvG but they're still all horrible.

not worth anymore to watch - arenanet failed so hard^^

they banned paradigm NOW after they won the EU Invitational and would easy stomp the NA team. what a joke
they killed the only pro team gw2 have with this cause paradigm cant now have a player like xeph( the team leader) in his roster with stupid tournament requirements like this. So sad.

i will not watch this event

You don't seem to be fully informed, it was mistleague's fault and not a-net's.

No one was banned. Team Curse was disqualified in this tournament only for bringing an ineligible player.
