They have said there will be an expansion after mists, and one after that, and one after that.
I heard 2012 was supposed to be the end because the Mayan Calendar only went to the 21st december 2012.

Pretty sure the calendar has always only gone to one year in the future. Also, we don't know anything about the next expansion including level cap. Next.
In-game the level limit set is to 225 or so. However that doesn't mean it cannot be changed, that is just how Blizzard made it upon Vanilla release.
also with Heirlooms going from lvl 90-100 either Blizzard is trying to make heirlooms span across two expansions (which has never happened until the second expansion came out) or the next expansion will be a ten level expansion.

You're really reaching for straws here, OP.
Poster with less than 10 post count, taking unverified PTR details as certainty, expecting the game to end just because the ingame calendar only goes 1 year into the future (which it always has). This post is full of no-no's...
Calender shows 1 year in advance.
100 is just a number.

WoW will end in the year 2000, because Blizzard's server will suddenly read '00' as year instead of '99' and everything will crash.

Thank you for the good laugh. This topic has been discussed more than the question whether WoW is already dead or not.
What can you possibly hope to get out of a thread like this?
The fact is that there is no limit or fixed number to anything in programming. What is, can change. What isn't, can be. Mulling over what the World of Warcraft will look like making irrational assumptions leads you nowhere.
Assumption is the mother of all .........
The level of anything in the game will be increased as they see fit until the game dies.
