Likely Bibi wasn't supposed to leak The Dark Below's name until mid September, where it could build hype for Blizzcon in November.

I agree with you. They do need the hype too for WoW they have lost a substantial subscription base. I also can't even imagine how much money websites have been making because of this leak.

which is ridiculous "logic". Corgis unleashed could also be a blizz product in the pipeline. Something for kids. If they can make a wow kids book featuring the Lich King, Corgis Unleashed is several degrees less ridiculous (knowing what we WoW players know about Arthas anyways)

Then you're not looking close enough. Under Identification:

Also http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/process/index.jsp is the process for filing an application. It seems to indicate that the fees are payable at the application filing date. Are people so invested in haox expac titles that they're willing to pay >500 (and use an attorney's info without his permission, I might add) to get the community abuzz?

You don't need to pay the fee directly. You can file an application and the application gets online. The USPTO will then send a letter to the address you told them together with the bill. I could file an application and the bill will be sent to Blizzard's attorney because I gave the USPTO his address.

In addition I don't understand how somebody actually can believe that the dark below was real in the first place. I mean compared to MoP or any other trademark we got nothing more than a picture of some informations. When MoP was registered we got a link to it and links to various other trademark sites. Also keep in mind how Blizzard filed trademarks in the recent past like Heathstone or Reaper of Souls. They registered it in a country that doesn't have an online database and applied the trademark to the US and all the other countries when they needed it.

Blizzard knows exactly what has happened with Cataclysm and MoP and since MoP we only found new trademarks after they were officially revealed.

My computer is messed up so I can't copy and paste but he said It's easy to add whatever you want to a .gov site. He also claimed that you can registere anything in anyone's name. So I could register "Oily Six Pac Men's Party Online" if I so chose to, by his logic. At the bottom he said "I am going to call the whole Dark Below thing a hoax."
