Now that Shield Wall doesn't require a shield is there ANY benefit of macroing to a shield?

There is no dps loss in using Shield Wall or Spell Reflect anymore. The shield can still be useful, if you are getting focus by physical dps classes, like Rogue, other Warriors or Hunters. Good Ret paladins for example always macroed Shields for when being focused by Physical dps classes.

If you want to play at 100% you should still have a shield macro, but no need to macro it into Shieldwall or Reflect any longer.

One benefit would be it looks about a gazillion times better then the one you automagically equip when using Shieldwall or Spellreflect.
