Black Market Timer?

So I logged on to check out the Black Market Auction House at 10:13Pm and lo and behold, the Drake of the South Wind is up there.

Auction time says, "Short, Less than 30 minutes."

Okay, so I figure some time in between now and 10:42, that drake will be mine or someone else's.

Bidding commences, up, up, up...

I put in a bid at 10:41:58 figuring I'm golden, but I figured wrong. The auction kept going until 10:50 something, well beyond the "less than 30 minutes" listed when I first checked in.

What gives?

Simple. You can't snipe at the last second. The time extends when a new bid is placed. This isn't even the first time this has been brought up: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...tes-50-minutes

Not to sound negative, but isn't a given that auctions extend when someone bids? It would be a crappy design if people could snipe at the last second, without the other bidder to have a chance to respond with a new offer.

It's not always 100% accurate even when no one else is bidding, but yes someone outbid you and it got extended.
