    Will FPS drop with larger monitor?

    Currently playing on my stone age 17 inch screen, I'd like to buy 23-24 inch. But will my FPS drop a lot with larger resolution? I don't have very high end pc, so it's a risky move I guess.

    Depends on the resolution of the screen. But assuming you get a bigger screen, you will most likely also get a bigger resolution, and bigger resolution = Less fps.

    If resolution increases, yes your framerates will decrease.

    If the resolution is the same bu the monitor size is larger, then you wouldn't really see a framerate decrease.

    Yes, but going to a 23 or 24 shouldn't be that noticeable, also depends on hardware, with your monitor being 17" does that mean your system is old...old like 2003 old?

    Well no it's not 2003 old i3 processor, HD5770 gpu, 4 gigs of ram, and the rest is whatever Will it be fine for Diablo 3? My current resolution is 1024xSomething (currently on my phone) and new monitors' res would be 1920x1080.

    Really curious what should I expect, currently playing at 60 FPS most of the time.

    If your monitor is currently 1024x768... Then going up to 1920x1080 means your FPS will drop by about 60-70%.

    1024x768 = ~780k pixels
    1920x1080 = ~2100 pixels

    This means it will be about 3x more taxing on your system than before, or require 3x the power to get the same performance.

    1024x768 going to 1920x1080 is a hell of a jump. You're gonna see some dips in Diablo depending on the ACT

    Your 5770 should be able to handle D3 with no issues on a 23 or 24" your going to see a hit but it should still play it ok. Your system isnt that old.

    Worse thing, you upgrade your video card, but I dont see you having a issue, my youngest daughter (26) plays D3 and SC II on a 23" with a XFX HD4770, I dont know what FPS she gets but she plays fine on it, and shes using a i3 as well. I'll see next time I am over at her house.

    1920x1080 is definitely worth the upgrade from your ancient monitor. D3 is mainly CPU limited, so GPU doesn't really have as drastic of an effect whether you run at 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4k.

    It's going to have an effect when you sit in town, but when there are a million mobs around you, your CPU will limit the FPS massively. I sit in town at 60 FPS(limited) and then during some intense packs I drop to 10-15 FPS.
