Are you more educated than a WW1 Soldier?

This is part of the aptitude for the US Army during WW1, people with high scores and good reports during basic training were often invited to train to become Officers, how do you compare to people 100 years ago?

Hopefully this will answer once and for all the question "Are kids today getting dumber?"

Something like that is impossible to test for unless you have a lot of enemies of the state to use.

Its mostly a vocabulary test. I guess they assumed that if you know those words you are probably educated and should have a "thinking" job. The purpose of modern tests isnt all that different, they just use more than vocab.

    Also rocks can be soft.

It's a test of literacy, not intelligence, which made sense in that time period, when a high status country wasn't yet expected to have 99% literacy.

I'll admit, I had to guess the last question's answer. I guessed the meaning of precipitancy more or less correctly.
