Mafia 33: The Fall of House Dan'thal?

General

You live in a small Drow city named Char'Zendal. There is a small noble house, where you reside, called House Dan'thal. Your house is in great danger of being obliterated by the greater forces in the city, namely House Malin, the ruling house. You are doing everything you can to hold your home together, but as Drow, you fear constant betrayal and espionage. As such, every day you will eliminate one of your own until you are satisfy no vile infiltrators are left to disrupt your house.

Once you are dead, you may only post in the thread for dead players, so do not continue to post in your faction's thread if you were in one. Also, please keep communication with alive players about anything related to this game to a minimum so as to not give an unfair advantage. If you post as a dead player in this thread, your post(s) will be deleted.

You are free to discuss whatever you want, claim whatever you want, and draw whatever conclusions you want. Just remember that anything can be faked.


Night phase

The order of night actions is as follows: Unknown.


Day phase

Everybody has one vote per day to use to decide who to lynch. You can always change your vote, or even have no current vote. Once a player has acquired more than half the votes, they are immediately lynched and may no longer post in the thread - if you have information you need to make public, make sure you say it before you get that last vote.

Please put your decision in Bold Letters (ex: UNVOTE VOTE XXXXXXX)
To vote for someone, use "VOTE: [Player]
To remove your vote, use "UNVOTE" on a line by itself.
To change your vote, use "UNVOTE VOTE: [OtherPlayer] to cancel your previous vote and change the vote to lynch [OtherPlayer]
To vote for a no-lynch, use VOTE: NO-LYNCH
To peg someone as a suspicious candidate that you would potentially vote for, without actually voting, use the Finger of Suspicion; FoS: Worgenite
If no one reaches majority vote by the end of the day, then the person with the most votes will be lynched.

And that is of course not my real identity. But allow me to have some fun.

I am currently at work, so my ability to post anything serious at this point will be somewhat limited for the next few hours. This is why I prefer a weekend start!
Am I the only one somewhat overwhelmed by the lore here? So many names, so little time to research.

But I guess the premise is pretty clear:
Find the evil mafia infiltrators, and save our house by slaying family members rigth and left until we are sure there is no more infiltrators.
Knowing how mafia games usually go, this sounds like a remarkably stupid plan for long-term house prosperity, as the noble House Dan'thal will probably be reduced to 2-3 players in the end.

By the way, given the scenario, I expect some backstabbing along the way. In fact; assume there will be backstabbing. Remember game 27 where Krayzy threw his own godfather out in front of a bus. I'm not saying this will happen this game, but keep it in the back of your minds.

Day 1 is no joke. I take great effort in posting something useful, even on day 1, because I think it is the most important day. Cliques are built. Initial impressions are made. Initial votes are cast, scumhunting happens (like your querying of me rigth now - well done spotting that I was online for a while before posting anything by the way!). What happens on day 1 is paramount for driving the game forward. Even though it is all mostly in good jest - since only the scum team has any information to go on. Efforts to shift this information state is what I find most interesting in the game. Give the town something to work with, gain trust and catch people in contradictions. I hope I have gotten this message across to the point where someone will vouch on that.

However, I am at work. Limited time to process the game. Best I could come up with for information was the backstabbing theme. I will give it some more thought of course, but that will have to wait until I get home.

I had to twist my mind for the stepping on a spider reference. I actually read some of those blasted forgotten realms fantasy books back in the days. Not really awesome books, but... I do remember a scene from the underdark where some haphazard soldier was skewered on the spot for accidentally stepping on a spider while in the presence of a priestess of Lloth.

Drizzle is my take on the drow stereotype. I never liked Drizzt. He's just not interesting in my opinion, being essentially superman. What's there to prove? As a consequence, my RPG characters are all weak pushovers. In my current game, I play an actor. Non-combattant PC. Didn't prevent me from razing the goblin village to the ground, though rolling 20 7 times in one evening may have helped it along. My character is now known the goblin god of death. You just don't have that kind of fun with Drizzt clones.
