Isn't this similar analogy they've used in the past for various events? I think people right now are trying to grasp for whatever they can about the expansion before Blizzcon comes since usually by now we have some information on it and are clueless other than a couple trademark titles.

I actually think people have settled into their three camps.

Legion supporters are grabbing anything Storm-related to validate Heroes of the Storm.

Azshara supporters are grabbing anything that can disprove HS in order to say it's TDB.

Emerald Dream supporters continue to talk about what should have been an expansion instead of a novel.

Honestly, I'd just like the portals in the world trees to take you some place, also bring back and tune up the dragons guarding them.

The Emerald Dream, or parts of it, can still be an expansion. We've had 3 mounts and 1 pet recently, all tied to Night Elves and the Druidic theme.

There's also the Rift of Aln still to be dealt with within the Dream, which is tied to N'Zoth and possibly the Burning Legion.

And no, the Rift has nothing to do with the Legion. N'Zoth yes, legion no.

Emerald dream raid would be in the TDB expansion.

Honestly I don't care what the next expansion is as long as it's not the Legion. It'd feel like they rushed to the Legion to save WoW from the sub decrease, in which case I would stop playing. Story is important, and yes Blizzard is a business, but you don't fuck everything up to save something that's ten years old and that you've made a ton of money off of.
