Gaming laptop for a friend

I need a gaming laptop for my friend I don't know much about these anymore so I come to you guys for assistance.

He wants to be able to play decently intense GPU games and have a nice CPU at the same time. Doesn't have to be top of the line, but no overheating or poor performance.

He is willing to spend up to $1400 and needs windows as well.

If you're friend is willing to forego styling (apparently they look bad but i'd disagree) then it's worth checking out the clevo barebone laptops. I believe sager is the manufacturer for them in the US.

it really depends on the games he wants to play and if he really want to spend the whole $1400. I'm saying that because there are $1000 options that will perform very well too, almost the same as the $1400 laptops
