I picked sentinel for a few main reasons, the first being the animations. I really love the concept of acrobatics being part of jedi combat (one of the reasons my Consular is shadow). Master Strike also looks awesome with 2 sabers. The kick ability looks really awesome if you weave it in properly (it's off the GCD so no DPS lost). I also thought Force Choke looked a lot better with 1 lightsaber and looked silly while holding 2 lightsabers. So it was clear to have a Juggernaut for Sith, and Sentinel for Republic. I also really like the "monk-esque" fighting style of the sentinel. Building focus and centering to release powerful, but controlled fury.
I think both the SW and the JK have excellent companions. The JK gets a lot of the iconic character types you would expect in a Star Wars story: The lovably ignorant droid, the smooth-talking scoundrel, the smart-ass apprentice, the heel-clicking soldier, and the brooding anti-hero. Its a truly dynamic cast.
On the flip side, SW has a slightly stranger cast of allies. Vette is my personal favorite as I love her snarky personality, her sarcastic comments, and her fish-out-of-water attitude about being in the service of a Sith Lord. However, Jaessa and Quinn have a much more dynamic relationship with the PC and ultimately stand out more because of this. Broomark and Pierce are the weaker cast members imo, with Pierce being somewhat interesting but really more of a 2-dimensional soldier.
I guess I should've expected that level of response. Oh well, thanks for the "answers". It's a shame, what I had heard about the game was starting to make me interested in trying it out.
On topic (for whatever small value it's worth): I was planning on playing a Sentinel myself, because I prefer the (idea of the) armor options they get.
Its funny you mention that because I use Dark Side Jaessa as a pivotal character development point in my Marauder's career. At the time my Marauder was fairly neutral, and I still envision him as more of a wandering warrior searching for new challenges. In truth, he had never "embraced" the dark side as much as he thought he had. When he turned Jaessa, he thought he was to make her stronger. Ultimately, he got to see someone who was influenced by the Light and then saw them fall into the pits of the Dark Side. That change in personality had a huge impact on him as it made him aware on the influence that the Force has on people, which in turn makes him very wary of drawing too much on Force abilities or delving into Sith Sorcery. This, of course, translates into him relying primarily on Force abilities to enhance his physical attributes and relying on Lightsaber skills over mastery of the Force. Jaessa remains in his crew, serving as an ever present reminder that he could lose himself in the Force.
daaaw poor poor you
you asked a question (is this low settings) that was answered and you made a bullshit statement (looks like it pre dates wow) that was called the bullshit that it is
I don't know what you expected, to not be told you are wrong when you say something wrong?
Yeah, that pic is lowest settings. I was playing SWTOR at release thinking it looked pretty good. I was on a med settings, with some stuff set on low. I played for a bout a year, then went back to WoW for a bit. I couldn't believe how bad the graphics were compared to sWTOR. Didn't matter really because I like WoW. Recently I bought a new PC where I can play everything on WoW and SWTOR maxed and the SWTOR grahpics are just head and shoulders above WoW.
I agree with that statement, best looking MMO, at least for now.

won't say they are amazing or the best but I've grown to like the graphics in SWTOR
They are definitely not the best graphics, but good enough none-the-less and Star Wars-y enough to easily be an overall plus for the game. If you have a computer to run it on high settings, TSW is my pick for best graphics, with GW2 and Tera being very close second.
They are alright, somewhere in the middle of current gen mmo's, the engine could use a workover however, it doesnt handle very well with lots going on, on the screen.
