PvP Servers : What Drives You To Kill Low Level Players?

So I just got chased down by a paladin who literally punched me to death, I thought it was kinda funny so no big deal.

But, multiple times while I'm leveling... high level players will just fly by on their mounts, quickly kill me like I'm a daily quest or something, and then ride off... never to be heard from again.

So my question is, what drives a player, or even has driven you in the past, to kill a low level player... even gank them?

I find no satisfaction in ganking; in fact I play on a PvE server so it isn't a common ocurrence either. However, talking from my experience, I only attack PvP flagged players when they are actually up to no good and causing trouble for others - Killing questgivers, griefing people that are lower level than them, etc.

When I was playing on a PVP server foolish low level keep walking with a red bar.

And everyone know that red is dead.

That said killing is fine, ganking lowbies is scum of earth.

Same here, I have been ganked numerous times so I know how it feels. I'm not going to piss someone off for no typical reason. Killing them once might not be so bad as long as they are doing something bad, but ganking never made sense to me... why is it so enjoyable to make that player miserable? (If its a new player he/she might even unsub because of you...)

I play for the faction war. Alliance players, no matter their level, are my enemies, so I kill them on sight. To give low levels a bye just for being low levels makes no sense to me. If I let anyone who had no chance against me go, then I would have to let undergeared players, or classes I easily counter go too. Better to just consider them all enemies and kill them without discrimination. But I only camp people when they earn it, such as if they killed my alt or something.

Or when I'm gathering skins because I was too lazy to do it while leveling, they tag something from a distance and run it through my AoE, then don't loot everything from it. Use me to kill mobs to your heart's content, but you will loot the body or join the monster on the floor.

It's like entering cheat codes into a game to beat something that is already easy. Don't see the fun in that. I prefer fighting in arena or BGs... At least there we are on somewhat of an equal footing.

So there was this dwarf hunter while I was leveling my mage, same level as me, yet the guy had full heirlooms and kept killing me for some reason. I was struggling to kill mobs, as he was able to find me wherever I go.

So I logged on to my main, found him and corpse camped him for around half an hour. He then came with his main and another friend of his, then I asked help from my roommates and we corpsecamped their mains as well.

That was a good day.

That guy deserved it. I did the same, some tank in full heirlooms and his rogue friend kept killing me while they were questing in the same area, so me and my friends (Who were the same level) started ganking them. Then a level 90 whose alt also was getting ganked by the guy, came over and started ganking him with us. He deserved it, so it was acceptable.

I have a friend who kills low level players (like, will go out of his way to stop and kill someone low level if at all possible)... I asked him why just a few weeks ago, his response was "people always do it to me, so why wouldn't I do it to them...", I personally don't see the sense in it, very few of the people you kill are those who were dicks to you, and being mean to new players just perpetuates the cycle, but I guess it's a reason. Some feeling of revenge for all the big bad meanies who picked on you when you were small / on alts.

If you're so bored that you feel its more fun to go gank a bunch of low level players, you shouldn't be playing the game. Rather go find a hobby, like stealing candy from babies, popping kid's soccer balls, or pushing old ladies into streets. :P Thats basically the same concept when you gank a low level player. -_-

I only kill lowbies if I am running by them. I don't actively seek someone out unless they have messed with my alt or guildies, etc.
