My guild has a pally tank that solo tanks it, so we can get another dps. The hardest part about the fight is the fixate. Many times we've had it fixate on a player 3 times, and there's nothing you can do. Best thing to do is gather around the area near the cage you intend to open next, and when you get fixate move to the middle of the room, running to the back or front depending where is best. You should have a clear run from the door to the tesla coils then. Sometimes Thok will be running after a player and his fixate ends when he is standing next to a cage where the raid group is spread, so he just turns to the side which can be too late if he has speed stacks. So when he starts running down towards the door, shift slightly towards the tesla coils (and vice-versa) so if he stops, you still have room to run back should he stop near the raid group. Do that, and you shouldn't have people caught by the fixate unless they're unlucky, which can't be helped.

On the stacking phase, you want to be aiming to transition around 10-12 stacks at least. Towards the end, you want a good chunk of his health gone before going into the final fixate phase or he will get too fast.

The fight is really all about positioning and getting the transitions done right. Your raid dps is a little low, so you need more gear (assume everyone actually knows their classes well). Perhaps throw up some extra flex modes in the week to practice the fight and get some loot as well.

This is absolutely untrue. If the fixated player is sufficiently close to the boss, ~20yds, when the fixate is about to end and Thoks stops to pick a new target. He will not pick the same player again as long as there is someone else further away.
