I'm not against this idea, but why would a flying mount be the CE mount for WoD when we won't be able to fly in WoD till the first patch? I understand we could still be flying all over the old world and such, but no one who would be leveling in WoD would really be able to use their new fancy CE mount. Just doesn't seem to make sense to me is all.

My best guess is that we'll be able to fly in WoD after the first patch hits, but then again I might be wrong.

this is never going to be next expansion ce gift.. you will not be able to fly until 6.1 what is the point giving a flying mount that you cant use for months?

if it's going to be a mount it's as a gift with next expansion ce it's going to be a ground mount something people can use instantly not have to wait for months to use it
my guess it's going to be a blizz store item.

You're right, plus the store and CE mounts all function as ground mounts, so they wouldn't be entirely useless if we can't fly at launch.

Dang children, its not a freakin' store mount. It was first added in the same exact PTR patch that brought us the reaper of souls col' ed' pet. It's a col' ed' mount. That would be added before the actual game is due to the digital deluxe they'll no doubt have.

This is why we can't have nice things. Always jumping to the worst conclusions like abunch of teenagers.

Only problem is, when is the last time Blizzard handed out a mount to everyone (esp. a flying mount as cool-looking as this one) as an in-game reward after completing a simple quest or event? The animations and skin are on par with rare raid mounts or Blizzard store mounts so I doubt it's for the pre-expansion event.

You also forget that in WoD all models in the expansion are going to have that level of fidelity as a standard regardless. That specific one may be a one time only but if that is the case they will have plenty of re-colors that is almost a given.

I also agree that they will probably enable flying after the first major patch, I also think that if they are smart they will let flying mounts that can also be used as ground mounts to glide when jumping off of ledges like slow fall, that would make for some fun platforming and still allow flying mounts to be relevant until patch.

but i don't understand why there are chimaeras on draenor... and it looks exactly like the chimeras in found in the stone talon mountains and ashara, only it's a better model. did the horde bring chimeras to azeroth?

Orcs brought a lot of wildlife to Azeroth. Also I am sure plenty of creatures stumbled their way through the dark portal.
