The Mysteries of Northern Kalimdor - (Closed RP)

((This is a closed RP between the accounts Tovarish24 and Temptesque))

    - - - Updated - - -

From the Storm Peaks to Borean Tundra, Stormwind to Darnassus, and the final ship-ride to Darkshore, Tovarish was closing in on his goal of reaching Winterspring.

The boat had docked but just an hour before. Not much had changed since Tovarish had last visited here, accompanied by his new friend Bintah, as he looked for a cherished family heirloom. As he walked the path from the docks, the crisp, noon air rushed over his skin, and the feint mist of the ocean began to vanish from his senses. He looked up at the clear sky, and breathed in deeply. His bones ached from travel, and his legs wavered with the ghostly motion of the sea. Catching himself from tripping, his left foot caught the first stair to the local inn. It was here he would find shelter for the night before moving on in his quest.

After being greeted by the innkeeper and paying for his stay, Tovarish slid a wooden barstool away from the ledge and hoisted himself upon it.

    “Your finest bourbon” he groaned.

The barkeep poured a silken liquid into the glass, and placed it in front of Tovarish with a grin

“Fine choice, that will be 17 copper.”

With his left eyebrow raised, Tovarish answered “Hmph”

Digging the coins from his satchel, he added:

“Just a year or two past, it was nearly half that at this very inn”

    “Times are changin’”
    was the given response.

The passing words rang hard in Tovarish’s ears. While they were simple, they carried great weight in the tumultuous world of Azeroth. Just in the past few decades, its denizens have witnessed foe after great foe. Things were changing, and not for the better. Tovarish, however, had no part in this new world, and would continue his legacy as he felt necessary. Sipping the bourbon, he caught a glimpse of a shabby Night Elf traveler, stabling her Nightsaber. “That’s quite the cat” he thought to himself. Turning to his right, he stared off into the forest, pondering the rest of his journey.
