Is there a way to let YouTube automatically load videos in 720p when using the large player, without using addons or scripts?

Did you click the image to increase its size...?

The layout of the videos is usually much smaller by default, and you can change the layout to be bigger by clicking the rectangle. I can't choose either and it's by default on the big one. That's the problem.

I wasn't talking about the video's quality, but the layout's size.

You're using the small player with a size of 860x480. The large player is 1280x720.

Strange, it used 480p for me, even though I have set both best quality and HD on fullscreen options. Using an addon now that automatically chooses 1080p or next highest quality.

I had that but it kept bugging and sometimes playing the video twice, one at max p and one at 480p at like 0.5 sec difference.

I do think though that YouTube should provide players for all resolutions. If you feel like watching videos at 111p or 240p, it shouldn't be stretched to 480p
