Gaming Monitor Suggestion and BenQ GW2450 advice

I think I am going to go out tomorrow and buy a new monitor, so I need quick suggestions. Might come to my senses and wait a couple weeks though.

    Budget is $150US.

Please keep it available at TigerDirect. I live within minuets of the main warehouse and can just submit a ticket for anything and make them go pull it. Doesn't even have to show as available in the retail store. (yes, you should be jealous). Actually MicroCenter is ok too... I'm near the Westmont IL Store too.

I was looking at this BenQ GW2450 I guess it's a VA which is in between IPS and TN... never heard of it. I'll tell you that 40% off... a $200 for $130 makes me smile though... as long as the deep discount isn't because it sucks.

I currently have LG W2053TP. First few links would not tell me what type this is (TN, IPS, etc)

I'm tired of the 1600 resolution. I will donate the old monitor to my work where half the people are still using 15 year old CRTs.

Is a tiny bit more expensive at $189.99, but not a bad choice.

    Your GW2450 review.

For gaming sake in terms of responsiveness the e-IPS U2312HM is very very good.
BenQ GW2450HM is pretty good at 6ms.

    All the graphs and stuff.

    Color coverage goes to Dell.
    Contrast goes to BenQ.

Everything else is pretty average and negligible for the average user.

I'd go with the Dell one personally if I had to pick either. Has some extra stuff like USB 2.0 ports if you ever need them, nice swivel/rotation etc is also there if you ever care to use it.

I've never been a huge stickler for contrast ratio but if it's something you care a lot about then go for the BenQ one cause that has some fantastic contrast numbers.

Yeah 8-bit (BenQ) > 6-Bit (Dell) any day I would say and the BenQ is also cheaper.

Of course you have to weigh that against adjustability, slightly worse response time and the BenQ also only comes with a VGA cable which you definitely want to replace with DVI, so an extra cost there. The BenQ has no HDMI or DP either. The Dell is lacking HDMI as well, which may or may not matter to you but worth noting.

Looking at the reviews the Dell covers more of the sRGB Color space and has more accurate colors, it is also faster so unless you really need the much higher contrast from a VA panel the Dell monitor would be my choice.

Yeah reading the reviews and adding tot he things I already said about adjustability and such I would probably go for the Dell as well.
